The Marine Corps like no other pushes history and the privilege and sacrifices of leadership.
More than anything the senior has a responsibility to the junior if it is expected that the junior will go to his death on the orders of the senior.
The seniors are violating that trust and confidence.
The disturbing thing is this sounds almost like communication he knows he will not live beyond.

Many, many here have served in the military and know...absolutely know that service members voluntarily and knowledgably give up certain rights and freedoms that other Americans enjoy.
The entire USCMJ is just one LARGE example. It is NOT the justice system (if we even have one anymore...sigh) of the civilian world.
One of the things you give up, particularly officers and others in leadership roles, is the right to criticize your chain of command outside of that chain and in the public domain.
He has been relieved of his command, properly IMO, and he subsequently resigned.
He should have resigned and then expressed himself publicly as guaranteed for civilians by the 1st A.
Its not that I disagree with his view on this atrocious cluster fuck of a withdrawal. Not at all. But as an O-5, he absolutely knew what was going to happen when he went public with this criticism and he did it anyway.
If I was his commanding officer, I would have relieved him of his command responsibilities also. The military is NOT a democracy and, IMO, appropriately so.
Hell, if you have a management/leadership role, try criticizing the CEO of your corp employer publicly and you will get the same "we have lost confidence in you" and you will be walked out the front door.

I have zero problem with him thoroughly castigating his military and political leaders..... when he is no longer in the military. They deserve it and should be roasted for it. And I hope that now as a civilian he continues it.
My only point was that those consequences could not have been a surprise to him at all and that as an active duty officer it was a violation of trust and military discipline for him to express these views while still serving in a command/leadership position. He knew he was going to get fired and he was.
Its ok if others disagree with me.....but this is nothing new, its the way the military has always run (and I know you know this from first hand experience also) and will happen anytime an active duty officer/leader goes on record publicly criticizing his chain of command.
That same standard was not applied to Lt Col Douche (Vindman)...it is illegal for a Commissioned Officer to criticize/question the Commander in Chief...even after they are no longer in the military. It's in the UCMJ.

Let's see if he has a plan. Any moderately trained badass can cause all kinds of havoc. Is his plan just to bring the system down? The commies are ready to grab power if that happens. Is he going to exploit the corruption, ineptitude, and weakness that is in place at the moment? Again, what replaces it? People will follow a strong leader, but to where? Well, the point of "(and I know you know this from first hand experience)" was addressed to someone who I know was in a position at one time in his life where these considerations were known and applicable to him as well as myself and many others on here.
As for my point, I'm not sure how I can make it more clear:
1. I do not disagree with his assessment of his senior military/political leadership and its abject failure. I hope he continues to fry their ass.
2. He was properly fired from his command position for his actions and if I was his commander I would have done the same.
3. I don't give a flying fuck if he would have gotten more or less attention to his positions if he had resigned first. It was his responsibility to do so if he wanted to publicly express the views that he did.
4. As for some others who cited that shit head Vidman getting way with his contemptible actions....do I need to again say "didn't your Mommy tell you that two wrongs don't make a right"? He too should have been relieved of duties....and frankly he should have at least gotten an Article 15 if not an Article 32/CM.
I guess I've expressed my views on this as clearly as I'm able so I'm moving on.

I disagree. In chess the white pieces move first, there have been 4 moves...unless one side or the other changed a move, with the bishop or the knight. That is completely possible. The only moves on a chess board that cannot be reversed are pawns. Certainly something to think about though. Hmmm.

FWIW: I made this board a couple years ago. I made the ceramic pieces in high school 30+ years ago...I made a board back then too, but this one is all hard wood, used laminate for the other board, it turned out nice, but nothing compared to solid the hardwood one.
