Rifle Scopes USO announces the SK-30

I’m gonna fondle it tomorrow.
Keep me posted. Turrets look a tad wonky but other than loving it. I wonder if this will transition into entire new SK lineup with a 6x erector? I mean they get a 3-18 or 4-24 anywhere near that form factor with the new reticle and i'll be looking to hop back on the USO train especially if the weight isn't too bad.

I've not handled or see a USO in 10 years i've had my SN-3 but never been along side another one. LR-17 was much of the same and the B-series was like a revision but form factor took a step backwards IMHO. Loved the new rendition of the EREK and locking windage. Finally they have a reticle. I assume they've kept up with everyone in glass quality, but honestly have see no comprehensive comparisons or reviews of USO in some time.

good to see them moving in this direction... something was up when they changed their logo, website, etc. hopefully it will be priced right the competition in the > $2500 scopes just go hotter.

What’s the new reticle?

I have been hoping that someone would make that EXACT reticle for years. If they offer this reticle in a lower power scope, I will magically appear at their HQ with money and a smile.

Wish they'd have kept the current bravo knobs, those are some of the best on the market. Maybe these are place holders or an option life they used to do. I'd be interested if they come out with a 3-18 in the near future.

Here it is. This is still a prototype so when I say the clicks were squishy and sucked don’t take it to heart. They are going to have a much more tactile and click feel in production. What I’m not a huge fan of is the turrets themselves. To turrets in elevation. Bottom one is 1 mil per click with top being 1/20 per click. This is not on the SK but on a B17 but same design is coming to SK.

Ugh......hope those are just optional.

Requiring to have two turrets is pure shit. Especially at 1mil and 1/20th.

Whoa. So if I'm at 2.9 mil and I want to dial to 3.1. Do I need to dial up a full mil, then back down 16x .05 mils?

I don't understand the 1/20 per click why it's not 1/10

Even then, for PRS type stuff, having two turrets is just dumb.

I can see how it could be nice for other disciplines, but not this one.

One of the reasons you don’t see NF beasts on every rifle.

Another thing you’d have to do on the clock and another thing you’d have to remember to check before/after.

I actually said this to them. You might find hunters or some other disciplines that can use them but for tactical shooting it just isn’t gonna work.

I am just guessing, but that demo/proto. 'stack turret' on display booth is an option you can order with or without .
It cool piece of mechanics and good to see any manufacture moving and thinking .

Reticle is awesome.
Turrets are beyond retarded. Try walking through the brush or using those around web gear. No go.

Yeah that turret design has me scratching my head. So i've got to set my entire mil value and switch knobs to fine tune it to the measurement i want. Turning one movement into two and thus slowing anyone using it down. Facepalm.

The top picture has 1/10 clicks on that turret. I'm not sure what they have going on the bottom but the top pic looks normal

The top picture is the standard turret as found on the B17. They just put those on for the show to get the product out there. It’s still a prototype. They don’t have a production one built yet

1/20th intended for ELR or other non-tactical applications I suspect. Cool.

Is that the parallax on the same side as windage knob?
Yes. I suggested LSW and parallax with illumination on right. I wasn’t to forward aboutvthe turrets. Merely suggested that tactical shooters will probably gravitate toward the standard turret types. 1/10 per click.

Maybe that’s just showing off the turret? How do you field a 5-30x56 at 14.3” but your 3.2-17x44 is 15.75. It’s like they’ve brought back the SN-3 TPAL

That seems odd for turrets. Why 1Mil and .05Mil adjustments. Seems like a lot going on

My guess is this turret system is designed with ELR or benchrest mind where a finer adjustment would be useful and NOT for PRS style shooting

There are so many options out there, its going to need to be priced right.

I'd think you'd dial 3.0 mils the first time, go -0.1 to get to 2.9, then go positive 0.1 to be at 3.1. But yes, at some point there would be a threshold where you'd have to dial the fine turret back, go up a mill, then come back down or whatever.
