    Solid Ground
Every year at Thanksgiving, we go around the table and all the family has to say one thing they're thankful for before we serve the bird.

This year, my family has so far escaped the Wuhan Flu, unscathed. We remain healthy and happy.

We've got roofs over our heads, and food in our bellies.

What are your greatest gifts this year?

My family, our new puppy, 7 relatives that have so far survived COVID including a 96 year old great aunt, the fact that my crew and I all survived another wildfire season with no major injuries (and somehow no COVID cases), I live in the free state of Idaho, the deer, ducks and geese I harvested and the elk I hope to harvest this year to provide food for my family, my belief and faith in God no matter how flawed. I have a lot to be thankful for, no matter how completely fucked the world seems. Great thread, thanks for doing this.

My mother just finished chemo therapy from breast cancer. She had a double mastectomy and also had COVID about a month ago. She did not experience any major symptoms other than cough, sore muscles and loss of smell/taste.

I’m thankful that she’s doing perfectly well.

PS. She still won’t wear a mask for shit.

Family is reasonably healthy (grandkids and their mom have a cold) my mother-in-law is really healthy at 91. My wife and I have great jobs, roof over our head and food in our bellies (as said before) My faith and belief in God (as said before) and despite what may come I can always come here for abuse and some laughs.

family no matter how they tweak nerves and try patients , friends where ever they may be , health what's left of it , country glad I am an American citizen and was not born in some third world hell hold with no rights or ability to speak my mind without that government hunting me down , neighbors some I know others I don't but over all they seem like decent people even the lady that has to run around her house yelling at her dog every morning I guess the dog ain't trained her yet . I am also thankful to god for sparring a fool like me from my own choices giving me at least the chance not die for my own stupidity , in a few hours i will be thankful for family that shows up to eat our food and with the same haste I hope like hell they leave lol . I will wish them safe passage back to there homes . And for all of you and the forums Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours and may god keep you all well and safe this holiday season . I have to through it in now that the dinner is over and at last everyone has left we got left overs this year zero doggie bags handed out so I am thankful for leftovers and sandwiches for the comming few days yea .

Happy Thanksgiving all. I'm thankful for the health and safety of my family. I'm thankful that even if I'm not home for another Thanksgiving with my wife and kids, I'm surrounded by the family that make not being home suck a little less. Safe travels to all if you're out and about and happy holidays!

Thankful first of all for my Savior Jesus Christ. Our freedoms and this beautiful country we live in.Family, good friends, and being able to do something I love to do for a living. Just a big kid that never had to grow up. Thankful for my brothers on the hide as well. Lots of good people here that always try and look out for one another. Means a lot to be able to be a part of it. 2020 has been a tough year though. Lost my grandmother wife lost her dad. Thankful for the trials we face that make us all stronger whether we realize it or not.

God speed, my friend. Condolences to you and yours.

Im thankful for my daughter being amazing, happy, healthy and well adjusted, my job being stable despite kung flu/great income and im most thankful that I have a 2nd chance to work on my health after a serious heart scare less than a month ago (im only 35)
Im also thankful that despite the challenges of firearm licensing and ownership over here, I can still partake in my favourite past time.

    Be safe 🙏

Thankful for God bringing me into this world, taking me out when the time is right, and getting me out of more jams in between than I care to recount. Thankful that I have avoided the 'Rona and have a job where I never missed a day. Thankful and proud to be an AMERICAN regardless of the shit show that is 2020! Thankful that my mother left us before this all went down.... Had a bad heart and dementia. If she were alive now she would be in lock down and I'm not sure which of us the isolation would have killed first. Her physically or me emotionally.

The Mrs. was to be the pastry chef at a restaurant called Windows On The World which was at the top of the Trade Towers. Her start date was 9-11. She called in sick, was off to the OB-GYN.

This past year she had 2 heart attacks. First one was at 4:00 AM. She woke me up and my poor tanka toy Dodge Ram never went so fast in its life. Ran every red light to get her to the hospital. They had her in the OR in less than 5 mts. An army of people surrounded her. We were lucky as for some reason the head of heart surgery was there. She survived the second attack one month later. At 70+ years old I do not think I could start over with someone else.

    Late as usual...

    Sniper's hide

You bastards with a dark sense of humor.

I'm still on this side of the dirt temporarily.

Oh yeah, GARLIC! Damn I love me some GARLIC (that ain't from xhina). I refuse to capitalize the first letter so I had to do a work around.

Bless all you ladies and gentlemen. Chears to health and happiness.
