He's wearing a 2nd Bat Ranger shirt. if he was in the military, he would know that you cannot in any way publically express your personal opinion in uniform OR identify yourself as a member while expressing said opinion.
I'm sure his department has the same rules.

So let me get this straight, if your for the COTUS you are not allowed to speak out? I am proud of this man for stating what every single person who wears the police uniform should be saying. If you cannot up hold your oath to the Constitution then turn in your badge and gun and find a profession that you can do with honor. Disobeying illegal orders is the most honorable thing an officer can do. It's ok to say no to your superiors if the order they give you is illegal. You may have to get a new job, or a lawyer but there are avenues to defend your position. An officers duty is to the people, the Constitution and Bill of Rights, not to a superior officer or Mayor or Dept. If you are an officer and don't believe that with all your heart then it is your duty to turn in your badge and find another profession.
I have nothing but the most utmost respect for that man. We need many more like him and I do believe they are out there, in fact, I know they are.
You do not have to be an Officer, be it Military or LE, to refuse an order you are given that you believe is illegal or un Constitutional.
I did it in RVN as a lowly EM and it did cost me but not nearly as much as it did the Officers that gave me that order.
They lost rank and pay after a Courts Martial against me where the Truth came out. I retained my rank and pay and was promoted shortly after that, but it did cost me in other ways. I can, at the very least, know what I did was right and that action does not bother me at all to this day.
I think that ALL people, be it Military or Law Enforcement, that take The Oath to defend the Constitution of the United States of America against ALL enemies, Foreign and DOMESTIC, need to look into their hearts and minds and figure out if what they swore to do is something they take to heart or just words they are spouting out and repeating.
In 1968 I took that Oath and have lived and respected it from that point forward to this day.
