Where would you move to from a future Socialist America?

I have been (legally) living in this great country for over 30 years. Never regretted the choice and would repeat the same exciting journey again with only minor modifications.

When it looked like Hillary was going to win in 2016, I was ready to close the American chapter in my bio and move on. Fortunately, DJT saved the day but the cultural division has continued to increase and the 'dark side' has exposed itself as being more sinister than I thought. What if the dark side amasses enough votes from idiots, illegals, and dead people to win in November?

If a bugaloo kicks off as a result of this, I'll join the fight. Otherwise, I better get out of here. After growing up next to the Warsaw pact and having visited Auschwitz, I have little affection for totalitarian oppressors be they on the right or on the left of the political spectrum.

Going back to Germany would feel like trying to fit today in my communion suit. Probably a downer of a choice. Portugal and Corsica are on my list. Both are fairly untamed for European standards, with stunning landscapes and proud, independent people.

Where else in the world would YOU go and why?

PS: I hope that the majority of the People has seen enough in the last 3+ years to get off their couch and make the right choice but just in case they don't I would like to have a contingency plan.

I am 60 yo, retired mechanical engineer and software geek, and have enough assets to live comfortably albeit somewhat frugally in the USA. No debt, no children to worry about. Wife would probably stay here, close to her family; but who knows. My hobbies/interests are activities like flying, diving, off-roading, wilderness hiking, horse packing, hunting, etc. I am much happier in the country than in a city. Hate laying at the beach but like sailing, windsurfing, and power boating. Mountains are my home turf. Have no problem with a winter but suffer above 90F in high humidity. Dry heat is fine up to 110F or so. Don't need free shit and a lot of rules to run my life. Decent medical care would be a plus but I do not need anything including meds right now and hope to die in my boots like my dad. Speak German, English, and French. Unfortunately, no Spanish or Portuguese.

Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, maybe Austria. These countries value their history and heritage. They refused to be neutered by the EU. Refused to be overrun by refugees in the name of "multiculturalism".

My wife and I have been jokingly (somewhat) saying for years we should retire to Costa Rica and start a catfish farm :)

But in the end would stay and fight the good fight.

Ummm... no where.

Born here, will die here.

Pretty sure freedom was never won by running away

Next question...
Totally agree but my big concern is that nobody will put up a serious fight. In which case it would be stupid to surrender to the new order.

Raise hell before the traitors take office and I'll be on your side.

As a Canadian who has gotten a green card to escape the socialist nightmare of Canada (and other various reasons), I see the USA as the last bastion of sanity, but with the way the modern "democratic" party is acting, even that's at risk.

I'm not aware of any other country that values personal freedoms and rights as much as the USA currently does. Move anywhere else, and you will be in a country where personal freedoms and rights have been eroded for decades and centuries, if they even had it in the first place.

The United States was founded on personal freedoms, to escape the clutches of indentured servitude that living under a Monarchy imposes. No other country that I'm aware of has a political system that was founded on giving the power to the people, with foundations in place to protect the citizens.

I’d prefer to stay in the US but I‘ve spent a lot of time around the world and there are a lot of places I’d happily live. Worked in Switzerland and loved it. Beautiful place with great skiing, easy to travel around europe in general, awesome food, guns ok and hunting is part of the culture. They have a higher percentage of households with guns than the US.
Czech - maybe. Had formal residency for a few years but not sure if it would be a rest of my life place. Iceland - maybe. Germany - no way. France - so many cool places and friends there - but no - not permanently. Family in Sweden and Netherlands so comfortable with the cultures. Friends moved to Chile and dig it. Epic mountains and fly fishing. Liked NZ but they're driving the fun out of that place quickly.

just go.
you came here for the goods and now you want to call us socialist america
fuck you
go
you dont belong anyway, go back to germany you fucker.
Well, don't be shy to tell me how you really feel.

I am NOT calling the CURRENT America a socialist country but in case you did not live exclusively under a xenophobic rock you should be aware of who could be in charge come November.

Also, if I had come for free shit, I'd probably stay as a retiree.

My family told Switzerland to fuck off in the 1750's and moved to the new cool place where they could do whatever they wanted without government interference. One of the 13 colonies named "Maryland" at the time where they made saddles.

I'm not going anywhere. Not to Europe because they're almost lost to the "diversity is our strength" crowd, and Ottoman Empire (again). Central or South America? Nope, they're lost in the sauce too.

America is where the party is.

well, you might be forgetting that the democrats hardly ever do anything they promise, and rarely ever actually help anyone, unless you're a dude that wants to use the girls room.

As above, this is the last bastion of freedom. If it falls kiss the rest goodbye.

El Salvador? Are you fucking kidding? Ive spent time there, beautiful country, friendliest people in the world. They call their country 'El Pais del sonrisa eternal' (The country of the eternal smile), but basically a military state run by 14 families. I went to a bank way out in the country to cash some travelers checks and all the bank officers had pistols strapped on. Went to a strip mall in San Miguel in the south of the country and there were deuce and a half's sandbagged with machine guns.

If I were to leave it would likely be to the north shore of Columbia but only for the climate.

To answer your question...maybe Mars?

Croatian Islands, Albania, Slovenia..........Croatia being first choice.

Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia have told the EU to go fuck themselves and are still doing it. Viktor Orban of Hungary is a Stud and has been jamming his thumb in the EU and Soros' eye for the past few years and shows no sign of letting up.
Unfortunately, Austrian liberal politicians have sold their citizenry down the river and it's starting to look pretty Ottoman in some places. Oh, BTW, "OBB" (Austrian National Rail) jams the Hide on the their WiFi systems onboard their trains.............. :(

Staying here. Born here, family has lived here for generations good as any dirt to die by I suppose. Understand hoping the rest of the country gets their heads out of their asses before shit keeps running downhill though. I prefer peace. But if trouble must come, let it come in my time, so that my children may live in peace. --Thomas Paine

If freedom dies here, I don't think you'll find pretty much any other country to go find freedom in.
The freedom that can be had in a "free state" here in the USA is so much more than just about any other country when you actually drill down to it.

So if we want freedom to exist for humanity, then we have to keep the USA free.

Unless you buy your own private island, America is the last bastion of true freedom of speech. I'm 30 years old and too old to be moving to a new country.

A wise man once wrote "there is always peace until there is war"

I have made a vow to stay with this ship and if it must implode and it's contents vacated into the vacuum of space, I will implode with it but not before paying a special visit to what or whomever makes this ship implode in the first place.

And let's say, even if the socialists do win, we aim to make their "victory" so horrifyingly costly that they will be in no condition to run this vessel even after gaining control to the bridge and no medical bays with any working equipment to mend their injuries.

I always referred to the migrants who fled their war torn countries as cowards who did not have the balls to wrench back and fix their homelands. If I were to run from a threat instead of facing it and trying to neutralize it, I would be fucking myself in the ass with my own words, wouldn't I?

Well, my hobby and passion is collecting and using firearms. Where could I go? Hell, I can't live in one third of this country already.

I heard France always has room for more pussies.

I don't know anyone in my sphere who would consider leaving and quite frankly your post echoes of the Hollywood liberals who threatened to leave if Trump won. There isn't a remotely close 2nd on the planet to what America offers anyway. Even if there were I wouldn't give up to these Democrat nitwits that's 100 percent pure pussy.

There will be nowhere that escapes the beast that runs the global economy. Except possibly various parcels of fly over country that refuse to comply.

Paraphrase: "I came to your country and milked it for all I can. Now that the gig is up it's time to head elsewhere"
Fuck off!! You're a leach.

As for me I signed a contract that stated enemies both foreign and domestic.
My feet are planted on the red clay of the southern part of this great country. I guess my body will be buried beneath that red clay.
If the push comes to shove. I will make headlines.
