Wyoming is closed

Gotta Love it. Does the wind blow in Wyoming???
I am downstream from there to the SE in NE Colorado and we have some snow on the ground and some wind too but not as bad as what you have got. It may be on it's way here.??
Stay hunkered up and out of that shit, but stay safe. You can freeze to death in minutes if out in it.

Wyoming Wind Gauge-

A piece of oilfield drill stem planted in the ground 10 ft deep in concrete with a 10 ft. long piece of high grade 1/2 inch chain welded to the top.

1. A breeze,-- chain moves a bit but not much more than a foot from the drill stem. Very rare but does happen.

2. A stiff breeze-- chain at 30 degrees from drill stem

3. Wind-- chain at 45 degrees from drill stem

4. Stiff wind- chain from 45 degrees to 90 degrees

5. Wind blowing strong-- chain out 90 degrees from drill stem

6. The wind is blowing hard-- chain snapping around and links flying off of the end of the chain

Replace chain as necessary--Sometimes once a week.

MF is that in mph or knots?

Had a warm front with rain last evening tossed blankets off ,damn northern blowing,
Temps dropping again. Hell I had windows open now have to run and shut them all.

I called to pay for a gun I bought in South Dakota and got an email saying essentially the snow was rectum deep and still coming call back later.

Wyoming's second largest export is "Wind"... It's first largest is American Exceptionalism. Third is "Wyomingites offering apologies for Montanans having American values but sometimes electing democrats due to naivety".

I'm about an hour from @Foul Mike , out in the sand. Shooting from inside my shop out into my pasture I'm .3 mils at 100 yards with a 156 berger?

Chanute Illinois 1977-78 winter.
Snowdrift inside my barracks room.

Some people died. Food froze on the trip from the chowhall and was thawed on radiators in the barracks.

Military base ground to a halt.

Damn I wanted to be back in Texas

January 1981, F/V Polar Ice working north of Dutch Harbor.
Damn, never been that cold. Breaking ice with hammers to stay upright.

So what's my hold in moas at 6?

Winds like this are actually easier than a light, swirling breeze as long as you remember that your offset is no longer in relation to the target, rather it is in relation to directly upwind.

In your example of a target at 600 yards, aim directly into the wind, just offset 6 MOA toward your target.

Time of flight can be quite extensive, though. Allow a full two to three minutes for the sound of the ping.

You'll thank me later.

I'm in Fort Collins today and it's blowing like a motherfucker. Gusts of 40 to 45 mph are happening.

40-45 mph isnt that much as far as CO wind goes. We get doozies in the winter.
head east on 14 past Ault and you will find some wind.
lots of our guys on here shoot up there in that wind

Once had my F350 crew cab long box loaded with a lot if gear blown sideways in a good blow while travelling at about 30 mph on an icy interstate.
Have actually had to go to ground and crawl a few times too

I drove into a blizzard from Columbus, Oh to Calgary in April of 1999. Hit Wyoming and needed gas.....used a maglite to chip about 3 inches of ice off the pump so I could keep on going. Was the only station I’d seen for 4 hours. I never let the tank get below 1/2 after that.

Global warming for sure.

Because of Wyoming they revised it to "Climate Change"

Only place I've been where it went from 70* to blowing snow and a low of 9* in a matter of 2 days
