Sold to a different buyer after I posted “I’ll Take It” First
I posted an “I’ll take it” in this member’s Glock 17L ad. I was the first to post and I requested a couple additional photos since the photos provided were not great and since this member only had two feedback. A day and a half went by without hearing from the member. I had PM’d him and provided my number for comms.
After that long silence, I got an email notification listing a new reply in the ad from this member. The message stated:
“SPF to Mike, he was ready to send money and didn’t care for any more pictures so I told him he can take it. If it falls through JBSTRD is next up and so on. I’m trying to finalize city of Houston occupancy and punch lists on two new clinics so I’m Busy AF so forgive me if I don’t get back to every individual message guys.”
I went to the ad and the post was not there so it had apparently been deleted.
I messaged the member who posted “seconds” in the ad, but he said he had not heard from the seller either. I posted for the seller to please get ahold of me since he had zero comms with me so far. I didn’t feel the pic request warranted going on and selling to a different member.
The seller eventually got back to me with these messages:
“Yeah bare with me man, I mistakenly engaged the other guy first because I checked my PM’s first before checking the thread etc… I’m trying to juggle a massive work load and long hours so I’m not exactly keeping close track with on SH. I’ll get back to you after I speak with Mike today”
I told the seller it seemed like there were discrepancies in his posts and usually the first I’ll take it gets it. Also advised if he is that busy he should not be listing items for sale if he can’t attend to the ad. He replied:
“No discrepancies buddy, I checked my PM’s first and the first message I opened from a guy with a screen name of MikeL or whatever said he wanted it and was ready to send funds etc.. you and the guy that publicly posted were the next messages. After I responded to the other guy I went onto the thread and saw y’all’s posts but I had already directly engaged the Mike guy. Look if you want it you can have and I’ll publicly correct the posting, there’s no deeper conspiracy going on.”
I then text him saying I am still interested and asked how he would like payment. He replied:
“Ok sorry for the prolonged confusion, just after I finished messaging you mikes money and FFL came through so I was just behind the curve every step of the way today. My bad but I have no desire to try and turn that money around at this point even though I flip flopped on it sorry man sincerely”
Sorry for the long rant, it is just frustrating when people do business like this.
