You missed several key days where Potato head cut billions of dollars in "aid" to Ukraine.. Hunter smiling big at all the cocaine he will buy with the millions in additional kickbacks.
And, additional weapons sent to fight the *bad guys".
I'm not getting what yer saying. Russia doesn't have the resources that the Warsaw Pact had back "in the day"...Poland is gone as are most of the other elements of the "Soviet Union". Russia alone has a GDP of like 1.5 trillion USD - way behind Brazil, Canada and even Italy. And it's shrinking. Russia simply does not have the financial resources to get into a prolonged land war in Ukraine. Russia cannot sustain this level of expenditure in terms of money and military resources.
They'll have to end this quickly/soon or they will be ground to a halt with inability to resupply . They cannot prevail against NATO in terms of money nor arms nor technology. They need (Putin needs) to end this soon and concisely and the only major cards in their hand are nuclear. They aren't gonna start a Global Thermal Nuclear confrontation because no one, even in Russia, believes that it will not be "End Game" for all involved. But tossing a tactical nuke at a major Ukrainian city will not likely bring a full out nuclear response from The West that no one can win.
Russia doesn't have more troops - more kids that can be pressed into action in 6 months as cannon fodder they can recruit. The Modern part of the Russian Military is small. The Big part of the Russian Military is not Modern - they are not The USSR anymore. Shit, Ukraine *built* the Moskva for Russia and it was the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet and it's now a submarine. They can't replace it - the folks making USSR Great are now opposing Russia.
Putin needs to end this soon. Watch for some serious shit in the next couple weeks.

The 'let me know about the gas prices' thing was twofold:
1) That's how much I care about Ukraine.
2) It actually is a small amount. Yet, the Potato has been trying to pin the war/Russia to gas prices since the beginning. So again, read between the lines, I care when Ukraine/Russia thing is lowering gas prices. See how that works?

At present Ukrainian forces outnumber Russian forces in Ukraine many times over possibly more than 5:1, while they started at roughly 1:1 , general mobilization in a month means they likely have more than a million men under arms right now greatly outnumbering Russian forces in Ukraine. But things are not quite as simple as numbers on the books . Much of the Ukrainian forces can't be brought to bear as they cant freely maneuver.
As for carpet bombing in Azovstal, its a huge target. While it might not be as accurate as a laser-guided bomb but more HE makes up for it. Especially when targets are somewhere inside a factory that is hundreds of meters long

At present NATO Europe is just about depleted in terms of gear it can supply without denting its own already limited capability unless the US replaces all former east block gear to be supplied, you do understand that NATO allies are not supplying stuff for free, some of it is being paid for with EU funds but most stuff is paid by US taxpayer, the mechanism is somewhat opaque but US is replacing supplied obsolete soviet gear with US gear either out of US stocks or new manufacture,so eastern EU countries are quite happy to ditch some 40-60y old armor and even aircraft as long as they get new gear for it. How the mechanism works in detail is anyone's guess does Poland get an M1 for every T72 it supplies?
