My folks are living in Arkansas now, not too far from Mountain Home (north central); they have been getting a lot of rain, but no mention of anything severe...where were the tornadoes a day or two ago?
Mostly around Hot Springs and Little Rock from what mom said. My folks live in Polk County right where the Ouachita Mountains start.

Wouldn’t it be nice if there were an aqueduct system to ensure none of that water escapes the reservoir systems of the southwest.
It's all getting dumped into the pacific. Decades to prepare water storage and diversion systems.

All the time spent on retarded climate change research and, probably, a dumptruck full of dildo's.

Please, Cali... slide off into the ocean. But before I pay my Hotel Bill, if you get my reference.

They on a farm near Blue Eye? 😉
I was in the fictional "Blue Eye" country in Feb. It's a gorgeous part of the USA. Despite the pickup trucks and broken lawn tractors in front yards. Hey, gotta look at the big picture. It's beautiful country. Like parts of TN and WY and every other state that has areas unsullied by city trash.

Too bad it is hotter than the hammers of Hell in summer. I'd totally get along with those folks!

Anyway, Hunter knew his stuff. Including where you find Real America.

Cruise ship steerable motor pod? Cargo ship? Cool welding job and bet the ship company has no idea how little you guys get paid to save so much of their revenue!

Oh, and... Welding is an art. If it was a science, I'd have figured it out by now.

Awesome!

Wearing my old Alta hoodie today.
Must be 15 yrs old or so.

“Alta is for Skiers”

No snowboarding allowed.

Pretty intense place to ski.
Met a gal on the lift, freckles and pigtails, she was very nice, and a telemark skier.
Told me “follow me to some nice tree runs”.
I could barely keep up.

Mind you, at this point, I skied 100+ days every year, many days ski runs that were double black diamond only, and had skied off several of Colorado’s 14,000 ft peaks.

Pretty sure it's in the Great Basin watershed. Doesn't exit. Alta and Brighton are right in the C and H of Wasatch.

Was looking at an old picture of my 23 year old son. Never realized how much one of my twins looks like he did!
Aidan circa 2002.

I used to ski all the extreme stuff I could find.
Now I’d probably fall and hurt myself in the lift line....

Blocker spent some years of his early life just 12 miles north of me in O'Donnell, TX but I never met him. He was several years older than I and was gone by the time I went to grades 1-4 there. In fact I never heard of him until Bonanza came on TV. It has been some years since I traveled through O'Donnell but the old Blocker grocery store building was still there with the sign on the building. You have to want to drive through the town as it sits off to the side of US 87 and it doesn't take long to make the trip. It's just another tiny little Texas farm town that has almost withered on the vine.

Just my two cents worth of Blocker trivia.

Loved Alta and Snowbird, been a bit though.

A few things when you go... September is their "Indian Summer" and the place is empty.... Rent a 4x4 and drive all the way around AND into the Caldera. Don't dance on the moss like that Bieber Idiot. Icelandic Lamb Soup is amazing. Visit all the viking museums! There are lots of great niche knifemakers there if you are into that. And a watchmaker. It's an awesome place! Even if you do accidentally arrive on a motorcycle during a blizzard and on the wrong side of the island... Oops. PPPPPP error.
Noted, thanks for the tips
