Maggie’s Funny & awesome pics, vids and memes thread (work safe, no nudity)

Depends entirely on how hungry you are.

The cats and I will definitely be eating the neighborhood vegans before I turn on my kitties! Now the reverse may not be true... but as long as I keep them plumped up on vegan, it'll all be good! ;-)

What did we learn from this picture?

That your cat can make your death look like a suicide!

Jokes...

At least one!

Father in Law worked for Armour back in the late 60's up to about the mid 70's. Said he started on what he called the "kill floor".

He made sure I knew that when I started dating his daughter, the man can sharpen a knife like no one else.
My first "real" job except for the farm stuff was working on the kill floor of what at the time was a pretty big slaughter house. When the line was full, and running like it should, they would put a beef in the cooler every 20 seconds...........180 per hour, 1440 was a perfect day. I preformed every job on the kill floor, you do learn to keep a knife sharp.

Once I got a little seniority, I bid into the maintenance department.........

As kids used to say when we were growing up "All our pets were edible."

Well, not so much the dogs and cats.

They say not to name them. Just use tag numbers. When I was growing up, calves destined to slaughter got names like “freezer bait” and “hamburger.”

Truth, I was kinda looking forward to show-goat loin chops- we all put the work in. But, I’m also glad I only had to load him into the trailer.

Driving within the area of a feedlot is enough for most. My grampa worked in a chicken plant. He never ate chicken afterward. True story.

I had the unenviable task of killing mommas laid out hens every two years. She ordered 100 every two years.
It did not take long till chicken was my least favorite meat.
Couldn't smell chicken and dumplings cooking without hints of the scalding pot mixed in with the aroma.
Slaughtering hogs never had that effect on me.
I hired out slaughtering my spring lambs. I know how Clarice felt.

Is this not ridiculous? I love me some trucks but modern styling isn’t very conducive to modern parking lots, or even seeing out over the dang hood.
Running a ‘93 and two ‘06 Fords. Still going strong, but they are more than enough for modern parking lots . Sad part is the ‘93 has a 6” Lift and 36’s and I look to the side and am looking new truck driver in the eye.

If slaughterhouses upset you go buy the animal and do the deed yourself. It’s not impossibly hard, but it is a learning experience. But that being said, it may bother you but not so much that you quit eating meat out of moral obligation. You words ring hollow.

It's not hard at all. Just manual labor, pacing yourself, and making sure you are doing the hard parts with the right methods. I can shoot a 1000 lb steer and have it all cut up, wrapped with labels, and in the freezer in one day by myself. I've got a tripod, a boat winch, hacksaw, axe, and two very good knives. You may want a small trailer or a large plastic bucket for the guts to drag away. And multiple pairs of rubber gloves and clean rags.. A pot of boiling water and a cold rise with bleach as well.

If you are a newb, there are some good videos in the web.
