Yeah, I was there (Panama City) in the early 80s. Just as you describe. Just grabbed the shortest pool hits video I could find.
Thankfully I was a river gold dredge miner since age 15. Working under boulders the size of a bus in 39 degree water as the ground crumbled beneath them was good prep for all those SEALs on shore duty cared to dish out.
Both a good deal older than me, both look younger than me.
ETA: They were 23 and 29 when the movie started filming. Alan Ruck will be 68 in July. Good lord.

The panhandle is nothing like Orlando and south Florida. Should be two different states...except for the 50 stars thing.

Well I must agree. did some Senior Olympics in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area. Heavy combination of tourists and city folks. Not bad, but still Huge Cities! Our son lives in the panhandle. Gone crazy since Hurricane Michael, but still small enough you can move around and actually see some trees. Plus, having a membership at Altus Really, Really Helps! (Except Destin, that place is crazy But our son lives across the Choctawhachee)

I was issued 1/2 sateen greens and 1/2 of the original BDUs in old school woodland with the frogskin boonie hat.
Later I did manage some tigerstripe when I went to the middle east (wtf right?) in the late 70's early 80s.
As far as I know there was only 1 company with the 1/2 and 1/2 issue at MCRD hollywood.....dunno about perris.
