Any velocity testing out of it yet? I have a 26” boat anchor that I’ve thought about cutting down.
Just got the barreled action back yesterday, haven’t shot it in its current configuration.
I haven't thought about a DTA for years... I assume they finally got the mags sorted...16" 8.6Blk
Mags? been using the same mags for like 15 years
Perhaps I was just unlucky. When I had my DT there were no 10 round mags at all and the mags I had were beyond crap. The rifle was very accurate, but the mags made the system totally unreliable.
Unsure if I’ve posted this here. Still my favourite rifle.
I wasn't too sure about the telescoping stock section but It's actually pretty comfortable. I just wish the rear sling qd was higher up. Other than that, its been working really well for me. That barreled action has been through a McMillan A4, KRG Bravo, AICS AT 2.0, and a JTAC Screech Owl chassis so far. I think it's finally gonna stay on that nightstalker.

That is awesome and nearly exactly what I was thinking for my next build but with 22 GT
What’s the consensus on an 18” barreled 6.5 Creed? Can it still deliver at distance or does it begin to suffer last a certain yardage?
It is not entirely handicapped at that length. Well, kinda... If you are shooting PRS or trying to be competitive, it is. If its just for fun, I don't think you'll be handicapped.
When I had my factory Tikka barrel cut to 18” I could make hits out to 1000 just as easily as when it was 24”. Just required a few more clicks of elevation.
I had no problem running 130eldm at 2720 from an 18in sig cross. It now wears an 18in proof carbon 6cm barrel. 109s at 2860.
Finally built a 7mm08 whitetail rifle in temporary stock.

Bought a Manson reamer for my gunsmith to chamber it. He said reamer was great.
Slapped it all together, didn’t even bore sight it, and here was cold bore and then first 3 shot group with an old 120 NBT load I put together back several years ago.
Then my next 3 shot group. Think I’ll wait for it to cool off a little and then develop a load lol

I consistently shot my 16" 6.5CM with 147's @ 2600FPS to 1000m on man sized steel. I believe it just hit transonic at that range. It also delivers slightly more energy on target at 1000m than a 175 SMK leaving the muzzle at the same FPS

My 9 twist 18 inch Brux seems to tell me it likes the 145 grain Barnes LRX bullets. Might be worth a look if your interested
Edit to add, I’m currently running 40 grains of RL15 behind those Barnes

My 18” does well out to 750 with 140bergers at 2600. You can shoot it further though.
18" pva osprey carbon in 25 creedmoor....feels good to be back in this thread again.
I do not know yet. It just delivered today before lunch so I ran home to get it away from my gate so no porch pirates could snag it. Will hopefully shoot it some this weekend.
Just put "back" together a 15" shorty in 6 Creed in a MACS chassis. Waiting on Cerakote in either FDE or Coyote Tan.
Still trying to decide on a relatively small hunting optic. I've used a 5-25 Vudu before and I really didn't LOVE it, but I'm thinking new new one in FDE might be acceptable considering the size.

I personally would set a Leupold Mk5 on top of it. 2-10 or 3-18.
I always liked a Light Palma measuring between .730" and .750" for short rifles, and I've had several custom rifles in the past with those barrel contours . There's guys making continuous contour barrels now that look quite good in the .750 range.
I currently have a 20" 6.5 Creedmoor with a factory barrel that measure .748" (19mm) and a .308 Win with a factory 18" barrel that measures .728 (18.5mm). Those are good analogues to a Light Palma class for man portable rifles used for getting around and over stuff.
Truck axel barrels have utility for gun games and the like, but they are usually longer, for the young and stronger.
