Hello All,

I'm pretty frickin new here and to the world of snipering, but quality service..I am not does anyone know where i can find a reputable gunsmith in arizona preferably in the Luke Glendale/Goodyear area?

Re: AZ Gunsmiths

Just looking for a go-to guy for tactical applications, ranging from doing a new fitting on a stock, blueprinting, knob installs etc..(but i think i'll stick with Az Precision on knobs)I had a guy in phoenix repair a sticking bolt as well as installing a knob and I wasn't pleased with how it looked and i actually had to have the guy coat exposed metal that he had machined off the handle.. Maybe my ignorance is showing but i didn't think a month of waiting and a $80hr premium was what i recieved when i picked my rifle up.

Re: AZ Gunsmiths

We will be offering the full range of gunsmithing services around August of next year.

Location will be in Tempe, Arizona.

Your bolt was just Cerakoted. It will ship tomorrow.

Thanks again

Re: AZ Gunsmiths

Hey Keith,

Are there any local folks you would suggest for cerakoting stocks and barrels here in AZ?

We can Cerakote stocks. One color is $80-100 and requires 5 days cure time. Multi color "camo" can get expensive and requires weeks.

Re: AZ Gunsmiths

January 1st, if you have any gunsmithing needs contact me. There will be a very discounted price. You'll pretty much just pay for parts and any taxes and/or transfer fees. The labor will be next to free.
Take advantage of it. I will only be able to do a couple rifles at that time, at this price. Contact me as close to Jan 1st as possible so we can order parts. The work will start late Febuary.

Must live in AZ and be willing to drive to me.

Re: AZ Gunsmiths

Lol i was willing to drive just not on a workday, could i mail the stock to you and pick it up later I'm guessing you don't want whole guns mailed to you yet I'll order my stock and have it delivered to you from H-S precision?

Re: AZ Gunsmiths

I have a box full of build parts sitting at Accuracy Speaks right now over in Mesa. Would love to have you guys do the single color cerakote on all the metal it when its done.

Re: AZ Gunsmiths

Will do, im building up clientel for you here with my folks at work and a couple friends

Re: AZ Gunsmiths

As sbeckman said, next Semester is when we're cut loose and are supposed to do $7000 in labor.

I have 6 rifles in line to be built. I'll be willing to accept a few more somewhere in Febuary or early March.

Like I said there wont be any labor charge to you. You'd just be paying for parts and maybe splitting a reamer with me.

We are set to graduate in May next year. I will be moving in June. Our permanent shop will be up and running by July or August.

Again, contact me Jan 1st if you'd like to have some work done in Febuary/March.

Re: AZ Gunsmiths

It's gets kinda mundane when u have new shooters and some wealthy person comes in and tells them spend thousands of dollars on equipment before they ever pull the trigger.

January is when our 4th semester starts and we need to have "billable work", IOW actual work that we do on our own guns or for others that is either charged for, or at least could be charged for.

Graduation to follow...hopefully.

Learning on others gear? No thanks

Maybe if they know up front and you are going to cover replacment costs but I wouldn't put myself in the position.

Good luck with it, I hope you become a decent smith in a few years

The good ones always ask questions of those who know more. I know some of the guys on here seek information from other sources and it always makes me food good about them, that after years doing it they are still pushing to know more.

Pretty Crappy attitude for a guy new to a Site to take.Love to see an as yet Unqualified Gunsmith thumb his nose at others to our rules while trying to drum up business from Guinea Pigs to learn on.

I was unfortunately unable to find the suitably large sarcasm smiley that I was looking for to accompany the previous post. ;-(

You simply assume I am someone who is soliciting business as a gunsmith here.

And how filling in some information that could well be completely false provides any level of credibility escapes me.

"Lighten up Francis!" comes to mind.

Shopping for customers is gonna get tough with an attitude like that, and you may want to realize that the precision rifle community is a pretty small fishbowl to shit in.

Keith, you going to be back in the valley?

Re: AZ Gunsmiths

I'm still confused as to how I have been "soliciting business" here?

I haven't advertised an existing business.
I haven't posted pictures of anything that I might have worked on.
I haven't suggested in any way that I can find in my posts that I'm attempting to solicit business?

I provided an admittedly glib response to a slightly veiled threat regarding my "profile".

Anyway, I think the problem has been solved and all of this vast "solicitation" campaign have been cleaned up.
