This is my first high end scope. I had to sell, scrap, and just about rob to get it. But so far I don't regret it at all. Its a 5.5-22x56 with Zero Stops, HS MOA turrets, and NP-R1 reticle. Setting in a pair of ARC 26/30 rings. Sure is a jump up from my Millett LRS system. Not bashing Millett, so don't take it that way. But there is a noticable difference in product and price. LOL

I have been working on a budget rifle for long range shooting/hunting and wanted to put a good scope on it since I plan on keeping the scope a long time, so decided to go with the NF. Got it mounted and sighted in today. Then reset the turrets and ZS. All thats left to do is fine tune my loads for the 7/300 wsm.

Next gonna try to find a good used B&C A5 to put this in. After that when funds come back together a good suppressor.

Re: Got my new and first NF.

Nice looking rig you've got there....I'm sure you're luvin life shooting it.Only problem with nice glass like that is that it makes it virtually impossible to ever go back to low end optics so suddenly EVERY rifle becomes a 2k outcome. But, that's what is so much fun about this....

Re: Got my new and first NF.

Congratulations on the new scope! You will not regret going with the NF. I purchased my first NF about a year ago and it has served me quite well.

Re: Got my new and first NF.

that little bag ...on the side of the scope......is for polished chicken bones......or a rabits foot.

Re: Got my new and first NF.

Enjoy your NF, love mine. Are you sure you want the A5 it is a heavy pig, no conducive to toting around.

Re: Got my new and first NF.

Well I wanted to stay somewhat budget. I had originaly thought about getting a manners carbon wrapped stock. But the scope took my money and this rifle is kinda a stepping stone rifle. Wanting to go full custom in a year or so.

But I totally agree with you that its a heavy peice. This rifle already with the 28" #7 barrel is a load to pack around.

Re: Got my new and first NF.

Nice scope, I just got my first new NF a few days ago also. Went with the 3.5-15 though and am lovin it!!!

Exhogflyer is right I can't see me ever buying a low end scope ever again....…

Re: Got my new and first NF.

+1 on what everyone has already stated. I've had my NXS 22x50 for about a month now and I fondle that thing every day. You'll never regret your purchase, that much is for certain.

Exhogflyer, truer words were never spoken... <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: Exhogflyer</div><div class="ubbcode-body"> ....Only problem with nice glass like that is that it makes it virtually impossible to ever go back to low end optics so suddenly EVERY rifle becomes a 2k outcome... </div></div>

I have a NF 5.5x22x56 on my M1a. This week I bought a Rem 700 .308 bolt gun, and I am currently in the process of deciding on a scope, base, and rings for it. I was thinking of getting a Vortex PST, which I'm sure is a great scope, but being fairly new to the market doesn't have the extensive track record of the premium scopes already mentioned. After using my NF for a couple of months, I spoiled, so looks like I will be calling Euro-Optics again for another NF.

Regards,

Rick

Re: Got my new and first NF.

Exhogflyer speaks the truth ! +1 You can not go back.

Re: Got my new and first NF.

You can keep that scope forever, and it will work on just about any rifle combo you can imagine. Very nice!!

Re: Got my new and first NF.

After my first NF I will never buy a scope of lesser qaulity. Just bought my 2nd one a while back.

Re: Got my new and first NF.

Yeah I see now that it would definetly be hard to buy a lesser glass to put on a rifle. Like Mark said I plan on running this thing for a long time and so thats why I wanted to put a good set of rings on it too. Just can't figure out why some will by a nice scope then put it in a lesser set of rings. I was recomended the ARC rings by a friend and so far I'm pleased with them also.

I went coyote hunting yesterday evening with this combo. I watched a Fox on the horizon catch a rabbit. He was probably about 800+ yards and the rangefinder wouldn't pick up anything that far because it sucks so I wasn't sure how much to dope the scope. So I just watched and the detail that could be seen with this scope was very impressive.

Re: Got my new and first NF.

Congrats on the new NF. I've got my first one waiting for me when I get home in a couple weeks. I'm looking forward to getting back and mounting it up. Enjoy.

This is so true! I have almost all I need to build another rifle, but I am still $1000+ away because I won't settle for another crapper scope.

Re: Got my new and first NF.

Congrats furtaker. I look forward to seeing pictures of your rifle when you get it mounted up.

I'm trying to keep this rifle a budget style project thats why I was thinking of the B&C A5. As of now with the scope and in the HS Sendero takeoff stock it probably will go around 13-14lbs. The #7 28" pipe doesn't help the matter much. I thought about waiting and saving up a little more and ordering a T4 with 90% carbon from Manners. Still up in the air on that.

I got this rifle to get my feet wet with a some what custom setup. I want to move on to a custom action like a Defiance/Skunkworks, or maybe even a Surgeon 591. Then was thinking about a Kreiger Palma style barrel in 26-28" fluted. And will go with a T4a, carbon fiber, mini chassis the works.
But that will be about a year or so down the road. When funds pick up some.

Re: Got my new and first NF.

If I hadn't spent the money on my NF scopes, I probably would have spent most of it on liquor and women, and wasted the rest.

It's a lens cleaning cloth.
