Big changes at TAB GEAR

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

I just ordered a Elite sling from RO to celebrate your venture. Congrats!

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

Job well done, sounds like I need to replace all my slings with some TAB gear to show my support.

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

Awesome to hear hard work and sacrifice paying off. Excellent job and good luck, I know I will continue to support you.

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

You guys definitely make some awesome gear. Great to here that everything is going good for you, especially with how hard it is to keep it American Made.

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

Congratulations. I love your mat and bag. Keep making the top quality gear you're know for and I have no doubt you'll be successful. Was just looking at your slings last night, gotta get one ordered soon.

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

Tony,

For you to be able to "work" with your family is a Blessing in itself. To do so constantly (full-time?) is even greater!!!

We're happy with your products up here, and will be ordering more in time. Keep up the great work.

Sean.

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

Congratulations Tony. I love both of my TAB slings. Outstanding products.

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

Another example of what hard work can accomplish. Congrats, and good luck.

I will purchase from you again.

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

Good news Tony!

I will continue to use your products for as long as they are available to me.

Some of the nicest gear I have is TAB gear products.

You will be happy to hear that even on the other side of world, your products receive great praise. Whenever Im at the range people always ask me where I get your great products from. I tell them, TAB gear !

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

Congrats Tony. I know you will do well. The cream always rises to the top.

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

Congratulations Tony, as Rob said the cream always rises to the top!!

It is very rewarding having your family working with you, I have been blessed to have mine with me. It also presents its challenges too. Strong families survive and flourish together.

I wish you all the success that can be had!!

Don

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

Congratulations!

I remember when I was looking for a rear bag. TAB looked like a thoughtful design at a good price. Triad had it in stock so I bought it. Since then I have your mat and replaced my sling for your model. Until this thread I hadn't realized most of my stuff had your tag on it. You make great gear and I'm sure your decision will prove wise. I look forward to the future of your business.

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

Nice Tony, glad to hear you are going to make a go of it.

Now get off the internet and get to work!

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

Hell yeah! Congratulations.

I forgot to grab the bright green sling from you at the Cup, still want one though. I will do my part to make sure you are successful.

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

The dream can be realized and you right path!

Proud of you Tony!

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

Good for you!

With Eagle being off shored any chance you are going to make some similar items like:
American Made Stock Pack?
Becker style Back Pack?
TriFold Mat Drag Bag system?
Plate Carrier System?

Would love to see an American Made/Company make these again

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

Tony,

Congrats, glad you are finally able to do this. Of course those of us that have known you that long knew this was coming. You are a beast (and I am not talking about your biceps), and will be just fine.

This just reminded me...need to get you the dims for can covers and rifle covers for the Twins

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

I know it's still very early but do you have any plans to expand your line in the future? I have a couple of your products and they won't be the last.

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

Congratulations! Working for yourself has its ups and downs, but it is definitely worth it. Welcome to the world of the self employed. I am looking forward to picking up a few of your products real soon.

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

First of all, congratulations on taking TAB full time.

Secondly, I can say I'd LOVE to see an "Eagle" style stock pack with some sort of "adjustable insert" slot on top for an adjustable cheek weld.

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: Pwerstroke</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Do you intend to make a scope cover?</div></div>

They make a rifle cover already ( https://www.riflesonly.com/pro-shop/tactical-gear/tab-rifle-cover-gen-i.html ), and he stated "keep an eye out for new products".... I'm guessing (hoping) he's going to cover a lot of niches in US made firearms accessories that Eagle is vacating.

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

Good to hear!!!
Need to make some shirt!!! You will make some extra coin and free advertising, win win!!!!

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

Congrats guys, and best wishes and continued success from a fellow small business owner! Mark

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

Tony,

Your ability to make this sea-change in your lifestyle is a testament to both the quality of the products you produce and to the customer service you provide.

So, many thanks for what you (and your family) do and how you do it. Good on ya, and hoping for your success!

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

Congratulations, and from a little experience. Expect, as a new business owner, expect to spend 60-80 hours a week working during the first few years. However going from PT to FT perhaps the work load will not be as heavy.

But if you do find yourself working many more hours than expected, consider it normal. After a few years it should lighten up.

-Steve

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

Congrats and best of luck. I took the self-employed plunge over 20 years ago and never looked back - even when maybe from time to time I should have.

Just got my first TAB sling too - great quality and workmanship.

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

Tony,
Whether you think you, or you think you can't... you're right.
Good for you and your family. Count on me to support your business.
America needs more guys with balls.
Mike

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

Congrats Tony, and best of luck to you, from the owner of six pieces of TAB gear!

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

Man-o-man! That is some awesome news Tony! Very, very glad to hear this. It would appear that all the hard work, excellent product, and costumer service is finally paying-off for you and your loved ones.

I will happily continue to buy, use, and tell others about TAB Gear every chance I get!

Take care Tony,

-Pat

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

Holy Wow, thought it was bad news when I first saw the title of the post.

I've got to place an order with Lisa, and my first thought was "see, you should've already taken care of it!"

Keep up the great work, and can't wait to see what else you get cooked up.
How about a nylon/velcrow/paracord scope bikini with a place for a couple of spare batteries. No elastic, covered metal(inside, next to scope) grommets for tieing the paracord to proper length.

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

Thanks for the great products!

Wish you luck!

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

This is what I meant when I said THANK YOU to all of our customers for their support, it's amazing! Again, I can't personally thank each of you who has taken the time to express your support for us, so I'll just comment on some of the highlights.

Thanks a lot Graham for the offer sir, I appreciate it and will keep you in mind if something comes up in your department. Hopefully I won't have to talk to you in a semi official capacity.

OH LOOK Jason has a whole new body and outlook on life and he's wanting MultiCam underwear now so he can show off. Dude, if I did do something like that it would NOT, repeat NOT, come with the lifetime replacement warranty! No way would I even think about taking something like that back.

Its a huge step and not taken lightly, that's for sure. In six months you will be asking yourself why you didn't do it sooner! Its awesome feeling to start something from nothing and make it work. Im proud of ya

When work doesn't feel like work then what do we call it? </div></div>

Hi Glen, what do you call it? I call it what my dad does now that he's retired. "Every day is Saturday" it's that good. I'll still put in about the same amount of hours that I have been, but it's all toward TAB GEAR now. I've already caught myself asking " what day is today" The days just run together, and every one is great.

Thank you Guns and nope, I never thought about carrying a crossbow with the biathlon sling. I'd like to see some pictures of that if you don't mind.

You're exactly right vkc. There have been many times I've wanted to sling that sewing machine through the window, mainly in the early days when I was teaching myself how to sew. I was just too hard headed and stubborn to give it up. If a guy can stick it out through the first four or five years and has a good product you finally get used to all the hours and hard work and can make things happen, if you're lucky.

Thanks a lot Doc. For those that don't know, I've bounced a lot of ideas off of doc, especially in the first few years of getting started. I appreciate all the time we've spent on the phone doc. Call me if you need anything.

With the buyout of Eagle Industries by Alliant, and word on the street their product line will be scaled back to support the overseas made products of Blackhawk, your timing may be spectacular for the US made product segment. Rock on brother.

If you need a rocket scientist to bounce ideas off of, I'm just down the street. </div></div>

I hope your right Topo, we'll definitely be staying "Made in the USA" and not trying to tear your head off with pricing either. I'll keep you in mind too, thank you.

HAAAHaa, I wondered who that was for. It came out pretty nice I thought. I'd like some pictures of that for our website if you don't mind taking some in the field or at the range.

You're welcome Gina, I'm glad to be able to help you out, although I don't think I had much to do with it, you're doing pretty well on your own at the matches I hear.

Thank you Sean. Working with your family does present it's own challenges, but they positive far outweigh the negatives. I'm glad you guys in Canada are using our gear and liking it, we sell quite a bit north of the border.

Man I couldn't believe how popular that lime green sling was. I've got plenty of the webbing, maybe I need to add that color to the product line.

Jason </div></div>

Thank you Jason. For those that don't know it, our SAS1 pattern is based off of a prototype that Jason had come up with on his own about what four years ago now I think. He had a bad experience with another company so we started making the suppressor cover and paying him a royalty on covers sold. We've since bought the rights of the cover from him. I still value our friendship and the help he gave me. Any time Jason, just let me know.

Thanks Steve, yes I'm doing at least that now, and I don't see it letting up any time soon either. I've got too many ideas that I need to turn into products. Now I can devote all of those hours directly into TAB GEAR

If I didn't single you out please don't take offense, I appreciate each response. My wife and kids have read this whole thread too and are amazed at the outpouring of support. The only paid advertising we do is here on the Hide, the rest is "word of mouth" You can't get better advertising than that, so please continue to spread the word.

Don't worry we'll definitely be trying to fill some of the gaps that have developed in the gear market just as fast as we can.

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

Congratulations and best of luck with your business ventures.

I've been using quite a few of your products. Great stuff. Will help to spread good words over here.

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

Great story....

I look forward in placing orders!

Re: Big changes at TAB GEAR

Congrats Tony! Love to hear when good things happen to good people. I know about those day's when you question whether the time your loosing with the family will finally turn into time gained with them. Gives me, and I would think many others, hope to hear when it works out the way it should. O, and your gear kicks ass too. Looking forward to seeing what comes out next.
