Hey guys, I've narrowed down the purchase of a scope mount to the SWFA SSALT v. Burris PEPR.

It is going to be used on a flat top LR-308 with an A2 stock. The optics will be a SWFS SS 3-9X42.

Can anybody provide me with an objective opinion on these two mounts that has used both of them?

Also, given the eye relief of this set of optics (77-105mm), and the fact that it will be used with an A2 stock, should I even be considering a forward mount?

Thanks in advance. This is my first precision rifle build, hence the newbish questions.

Doesn't matter...they are the same mount just different badging.

The options differ slightly between the two models like picatinny caps are standard on the PEPR where the SALT doesn't have them but the SALT comes with 30mm to 1" inserts.

I have used 2 different PEPR mounts now and they allow for good positioning of the scope. I typically run scopes with larger objectives and there is plenty of clearance. I have not had any problems with either of mine. I am not able to compare it to the SS product as I have not used it.

Thanks guys, I ended up picking up a Burris Pepr mount.

I've used the PERP on 2 AR's and really like them. Asnoted they allow for the use of scope with larger Oblective lenses and make positioning the scopes easy.
