I did a ladder test the other week and i settled on 44.5 gr Varget, Winchester brass, cci br2 and 178 Hornady HPBT. this is the first time that I got to really try them out, this group is 3 rounds at 300yd the reason it is only 3 is I was shooting at a state game lands range and you can only have 3 round in the mag at a time, there was a gusty side wind and I got the first 3 on target during a gap in the wind in about 10 seconds. By the time i re loaded it was gusting all over the place again so I called it good at 3 rounds. hopefully I will be able to get it out on some steal at longer distance soon.

Re: GAP-10 at the range

Nice. They do quite well at distance. I've been getting 7 inch groups at 850 and the only reason they're not tighter is with the damn mirage here you can barely see the target. Good job.

Re: GAP-10 at the range

it is a 20" barrel

I have been really impressed with is performance and accuracy. it is probably one of the least picky guns I have ever had. Every bullet and load I have tried out of it will shoot under 1 moa, even when you are in a scatter node.
This is the first AR I have ever had and I have to say I am hooked.
It is harder to shoot than my bolt guns but I am getting used to it and loving it.

Re: GAP-10 at the range

I have a 20 as well. Love it! I have not posted pics yet but I want to shoot it as well as you do before I do that. I do have one 3 shot group that was 1/4 inch with American Eagle 168 grain OTM. I just need to get a little practice in to get them consistently grouping I have had several around 1/2 inch. I generally pull the third round putting them in the 3/4 to 1 inch size. The first two are usually touching. Awesome rifle!

Re: GAP-10 at the range

Did you do any shooting with factory ammo before you, landed on this load? I would be very interested in what your avg groups were with any specific factory ammo you may have tried?

Outstanding shooting!

Re: GAP-10 at the range

anchorman I have not shoot any factory ammo out of it. 175 smk and 178 Hornady HPBT are the only bullets I have done any load development with. I have tried 110 vmax and 168 nosler ballistic tips also but I haven't done any development with them but they were both shooting around .5.

yes that is a SS 5-20 on it
