So yea I just bought me a rifle and its my first custom rifle built on the AI AX Chassis from Wolfs Precision. Here is the Specs sheet

Chambered in .308 Match on our supplied Remington action. Stock is an AI AX 2.0 in Flat Dark Earth, Bartlien 5R barrel Palma contour .875 at 26”, 1-11.25 twist finished at 22”.
Additional Specs:
Completely trued action
New complete PTG bolt ground to .7025 allowing .0025 clearance.
Includes Aluminum high speed Firing pin and spring.
Mini M-16 extractor
Ionbonded bolt body
one 5 round .308 AI magazine
Rifle Basix trigger set at 2 lbs
Holland pinned recoil lug

Additions:
IonBond Barreled Action in matt black
Vais Muzzle Break
Thread Protector

Obviously I can't post the photos of the rifle because its being built from scratch and its gonna take a while also. So what do you guys think?

The retail was a little over $3000.00, but yea I was hunting down the AI AX Chassis for a long time. Optics wise I haven't decided just yet, either a Leupold or a Bushnell, Im kinda undecisive right now but what do you suggest?

It's just common courtesy to fill out your info so everyone has an idea of who you are.

As for the rifle, it sounds like a nice setup. What type of shooting experience do you have? What are your plans for this rifle?

On the glass.....well I'm not even going to get into that, but if your going to build a $3K custom rifle, you may want to spend some time researching your options on optics. If you want to stick a $499 scope on a $3,000 rifle thats your business.

I hope the rifle turns out as you'd hope, and I'm sure it will. Post up some pics when you get it from the smith.

at minimum...i'd put a PST on that thing....i mean, if you have that kind of coin to put into the rifle from the get go....use some more of it to get a nightforce or S&B or USO or PR or SOMETHING decent

Yea you do have a good point, im about to get shipped over to Korea anyways so probably do some research on those brands

So the title should read. " I just decided to build a trued Remington action, in an AX Chassis System."

Since, you asked. and Since you have not actually Bought the rifle.
I would buy a custom action, Not waste the money on everything you are doing to the Remington. You will have the same cost into the action, but it will be a custom action.

leupolds are not that bad, but for the price point they don't really hit it out of the park. The same amount of $$ is better spent on something else. Not to mention leupy's "selective" lifetime warranty. If you don't believe me, look it up.

In the $1k-$1500 area, there are much better contenders... SWFA's new 5-20 HD, nightforce NXS, Bushnell HDMR, etc.

There are also some nice scopes out now in the $700-$1k area: vortex PST, Weaver tactical, SWFA SS, etc.

Or, go whole hog with a S&B, Hensoldt, USO, etc.

I saw a pretty decent weaver tactical for a decent amount and that swfa is pretty good too
