best price on 139 gn lapua scenars?

Just got a .260 Remington infidel from ugsw and looking to get some 139 lapua scenars to try out against the amax I got from my local store. Midway has them for 44 a box of 100, eabco has them for 39 a box. Does anyone have any other sources that may be less?

try powder www.powdervalleyinc.com, they usually have them by 100's and 1000ct boxes. 3rd generation is my prefered place to buy but they dont offer the 1000ct

Graf & Sons has them @ $38.99 a box or $341.99 per 1000. With Graf where you save is on shipping, as it's a flat $4.95 for all items regardless of weight . Currently they have free shipping if you buy over $100. worth of products.

Try the 140 Berger VLD's too. Cheaper than the Scenars. Mike recommended them to me for my .260, and so far they shoot well under .5 moa to 750 yds., which is a little deceiving since the size of the group is always horizontal (wind). I shot many groups at 500 yds with less than .75" of vertical and 2-3" of horizontal. Where we shoot the winds switches back and forth from 11 to 1 and back again. The only time I get tight little groups at long distances is first thing in the morning.

Thanks for the tip. Ill be sure to order up some of those as well. Just got the gun in from Mike and cant wait to get it out this weekend.

What powder and brass are you using? I will work up to your load, but it should work pretty well i would imagine.

140 Berger VLD's, .020" off the lands in Lapua brass over 43.5 gr H4350 and Fed 210 primers. I anneal every firing. I have no pressure signs even on a really hot day.

You'll LOVE that rifle.

ETA: 43 gr in virgin Lapua gave the same velocity and groups...

Thanks John. Sounds like the load Mike suggested only with a bullet switch. Ill be sure to pick up some more bullets and test out everything.

The rifle is amazing, I cant wait to get it out tm and run some rounds through it.

The thing I noticed about the Bergers was they shot .3 to .4 with everything from 42 to 43.5 gr. so I picked the fastest node. 140 Amax's on the other hand were definitely more picky. Nodes at 42.2 and 43. I have a Brux barrel, which will change things a bit... you probably have a Bartlien if I know Mike.

Powder valley is 308.07 for 1000. I would seriously doubt shipping is $33 thus making Graff & Sons not the "best price on 139 grn lapua scenars".

Bob, I will tell you what I am saying. The item number you qouted was LUCHL6018. That is for the silver jacket 139 HPBT. (The price I qouted was for the 139 Scenar HPBT not the SJ.) The price for that bullet (139 HBT SJ)at your beloved Graff & Sons is $389.99 which still makes Powder Valley $23 cheaper after your quoted shipping cost. Compare apples to apples! So what it boils down to is you looked up the wrong bullet and felt the need to come on the hide and blast me for trying to help someone find bullets cheaper!!! KNOW YOUR FACTS BEFORE YOU POST!!!!!
