With the scope. I'll put them on the scale and see how close my guess is.
The muzzle diameter is .780".

The .308 is threaded with a cap, but the .223 isn't.

I got to play with the 223 version at SHOT and it was a pretty handy little rifle. It barked pretty loud, but shot great. It would be a perfect walking rifle!

That was a fun night of shooting. 200 yards and small rocks....as long as you could keep the GAP guys distracted, you had a chance to hit them....

Super sweet little rig Mike! I am slowly turning to a way of lighter is better these days. After you're done with Tammys .223 I might just have to look into a Ranch rifle or slightly tweeked version of it.

I'm really digging this rifle!

Nice pics, Mike. That was a fun time getting to shoot these guys, the 223 was a nice tool for poking holes right next to each other and shooting the rocks.

We did a pretty good job of augmenting the sand piles that night with fresh rock dust.

Great, handy little rifle. I'd be proud to own one someday. Nice work!

Man, those are badass little rifles. I'd build mine right at 17" threaded, fluted, loaded with 155 Scenars. Nothing you couldn't handle with that setup. Super tempting....

They're sold, but I can easily pull components for an additional one to run at the same time.

Although I like barrels to be a tad longer (22"), this is what a bolt rifle should be for all purpose use! I for the life of me don't understand luggin around a 17 lb. pig anymore. We need many more like this, great work!

I love the short ranch rifles. Yours are very nice, robust, and handy. I would love to have MontanaMarine's. He was part of this trend a long time ago.

That 308 is one sweet little package. Love the DBM system. I'll be putting a a Defiance DBM system that looks very similar on my new 338 build.

Tag for pictures of the 16.5" barreled versions.

Also what stock does that closely resemble as far as fit. I love the looks of it but I am curious how it shoulders and feels?

All I can say as that is pretty close to my ideal perfect rifle for 99% of the things I do. Great job

Thanks Frankr. The RANCH stock is similar in numerous ways to the MCS-T and the A-1, but it has a shorter Forend and the comb is a bit higher. It's specific to right handed and left handed shooters based on the palm swell and the leading area of the comb and thumb relief.

I'll post up pics of the 16.5" in about two weeks.

I dont mind if you start calling these "biebers"! awsome rifles brother, I for one know how utilitarian these really are, personally believe everyone needs at least one 16-17 inch .308

Thanks Veej and I've always been a fan of short rifles. The 20" JAEGER (300WM) has performed extremely well with impressive velocities and I'm working on other short platforms as well, but as far as the truck gun goes, the "Bieber-esque" rifles are pretty awesome.
