Thinking of ordering a PST MIL/MIL in either 4-16 or 6-24. What's the current wait time running now?

Placed my order today and should have it by thursday or friday (in stock). That's for a SFP 4-16 mrad. Some dealers are starting to catch up with backorders, just call around. Probably a little more wait for FFP...

There are some companies with both in stock. Last I checked Adorama (a camera shop mainly) had both ready to go. Kept this as my own little secret for a while until I chose a new scope. I ended up with another brand but, the PST's were my close second.

I placed an order with a local dealer about 2 weeks ago for a 6-24 mil/mil ffp and was told 3-4 months.

(01/03/12) Placed a order with adorama right before the price raise. Other dealers wouldnt price match because they didnt have the item in stock. Pst ffp curent wait to dealer est. 1-2 months. :-\

I just got off the phone with Vortex a few hours ago and they said after shot show there should be some shipping out within 2 weeks. I've got a PST 16 and 24 on order

So the shot show ends about Jan 20th 2 day lag time, 2 weeks for them to ship it to the dealer, 2 days for the dealer to log and prccess the orders, 2 weeks to ship to you 4w2d? so roughly Feb 15? 'mid febuary' assuming yours is 1st or so in line

Liberty told me I was in the next batch on the waiting list for 6-24 FFP MRAD.

Looking at 4-6 weeks.

I ordered a 6X24 FFP from Scott at Liberty Optics on Thanksgiving day. I got an e-mail a couple of days ago that I was next. My card was charged a couple of days ago. So very SOON!! No ETA on the Seekins rings I ordered. May have to go with something else.

Got mine mounted and sighted in! 6-24x50 MRAD FFP, you guys are going to be happy, this is great glass for sure. Loving my PST so far just wish evrey time I got a chance to shoot it wasn't raining.

Good question,

Originally my first order came in wrong (2nd focal plane) so they sent back/reordered. I'd say 2 months?

Just got a local gun shop to become a dealer and the told him it would be 3/4 months before his first order came in

So I hope I can order one sooner

Guys, am I missing something?
Is this just a topic for general discussion, or does somebody really want to BUY a Vortex PST scope?
There are 2 4-16x50 FFP's on the "optics for sale" first page right now. One is brand new in the box from a very well-respected smith here on the Hide. The other one is my barely-used and identical scope.
The new one is available for the going rate, and the used one is available at a reasonable discount, but both are AVAILABLE, with zero wait times.

Do y'all want to put your money where your mouth is and buy a scope, or do y'all want to piss and moan about "availability"?

Indeed you have missed something,
Most posts ITT are people who have already ordered have already waited a few weeks, and from what I can tell are patient. To better grasp a waiting eta we post ITT , otherwise I figure id be out shooting. In my case, I have already ordered BEFORE the price hike and at a sale price. So reordering costs me an extra $95 - 120. Anyone whom has NOT already ordered, I would suggest looking into the readily avalible stocks listed

Since the discount was % of overall sale total the savings increased. So to reorder would mean to lose all above listed. At the moment losing this does not outweigh my patience.

Same here. I ordered from Liberty Optics using HIDE10. Saved me almost $150 over current prices. I'll wait.

UPDATE : vortex says current wait time on backorders is 8 - 12 weeks (starting from the time you ordered)

it goes without saying: if yu can find a dealer with them in stock, thats probably your best route.

I got lucky and found one out on g#nbr0ker . com....just had to wait for the auction to end. I got it last week. Man, it is a nice scope. You guys will be happy once you get yours in.

Jay and Chris at Sportoptics.com have a bunch in stock. I just ordered a 6-24 FFP MOA Monday and should have it Friday. Tell them you are on the hide and they will treat ya right.

I've got a PST 4-16 on order and I cant wait to get it. Pumped for the FFP on a personal weapon. I've used Schmidt and Benders a lot at work so it'll be interesting to compare the two especially for the price difference!!

Lots of reveiws on these: regarding tracking, clarity, low light, click positivity, etc.
Just use the search feature for pst review

just got an email from adorama saying its shipped and on its way.( Im on week 8 in total proccess so far)

Summary so far: ordered a 4-16x50 ffp mil/mil pst viper on 01/03/12 through adorama. Ups tracking says it will be here 02/23/12

Well, waffles I cant speak for everyone. But I know me and whiskeysix ordered during a huge shortage, and got put on backorder. Unlucky me I was one of the last in line to jump on a "backorder wagon“.
But theres good reason for that. See at the time was 2 big price jumps commimg. Like when you see all the other gas stations rasing their pricrs and you race to the damn fool who has yet to catch up. Also keep in mind this was around christmas / new years sales. So a good % savings was to be had
So the options were Long wait with pre price hike and sale price. Or half the wait and tack on a 150 or so.
As I said before its already post price hike and most dealers will price match when in stock. So availibility becomes the driving force of new buyers.
Im assured more vendors will bite and another sale will go on and cause another backorder. For those who brave the patient wait, I say "good luck, and may this be a good reffrence"

I ordered a 6X24 FFP MRAD around Thanksgiving. I knew then that I would be backordered for several months. I paid $825 including BC caps. Scott (Liberty Optics) called me on 2/1 and said Vortex told him 3 to 6 weeks out. It's been 3 weeks so anytime now. It's cold and nasty here now anyway.

Oh i see, well i got mine for $850 with a bubble level and free shipping on ebay right away. I guess i would rather pay the extra $25 to get it now instead of waiting a few months on backorder.

You have a point. But I'm not going to cancel my order and start all over now. I'll wait.

Did you get a 6x24 FFP MRAD for that price? If so that is great. All the ones I see on eBay are listed for full retail of $949 to $999. The SFP's are $749.

Yea i got the FFP. At first i thought it was sketchy but i went ahead and ordered it and sure enough, it was the one i ordered. Well i was just giving you possibly a little help but whatever works for you.

Got mine yeterday. lighter than I thought. Came with; sunshade, zero stop shims, batt, vortex foam pads, micro fiber cloth, see through bikini covers, vortex pin.
Everything else seems to check out, just need to mount it, and print me some tracking targets and start a drop table.
