Thats the range i'll be shooting deer, give this newbie a scope recommendation in terms of magnification. Thanks fellas.

One other thing, what kinda eye relief would be recommended? Gun is a 338 LM.

Get a Hensoldt or Schmidt and Bender 3-12, if you can't afford that then give us a budget you can afford to give us something to work off of.

Re: From a 100 yds to a 1000 yds..

Walk closer...And switch rifles to save some money for something nice. I don't normally get all but hurt over long-range hunting, but really $600 is all you can afford to throw on a rifle chambered in $5 bills?

Re: From a 100 yds to a 1000 yds..

I agree. If you can stretch your budget to 1000 get a vortex pst ffp.

Re: From a 100 yds to a 1000 yds..

so... staying on topic...6.5-20 or ??

Re: From a 100 yds to a 1000 yds..

Counter Sniper would be great for what you are wanting to do.

Tracking them is overrated..

Re: From a 100 yds to a 1000 yds..

I could be wrong but Im not sure there is a scope in the 600 ramge that would be good for hunting that would go 100-1000. There are some fixed power scopes, but they would not work well at 100, most variable scopes in that range would probably run out of elevation.

Re: From a 100 yds to a 1000 yds..

i would sell the .338 and buy a .308 and spend more money on glass
as stated above .338 is a lot of gun for deer hunting
