Does anyone near Philadelphia have a B&C Medalist Tactical A5 stock? OR the A3

I am getting ready to order one and I would like to feel the Grip and over all feel of it before spending the $$.

If you don't live near here but have one could you just give your opinion. New to this and would appreciate the advice...

Re: B&C Stock near Philadelphia

I just sold an A5. The grip is VERY vertical, almost goose neck like if you know what I mean. The stock is also quite heavy (great for sucking up recoil, not so great for moving around). The adjustments are good especially when you get it set just right for you. I found that once locked down, they do not budge. The finish is good in that it has a thick texture to it, you don't feel like you are going to ding it up by bumping it on something.

Hope this helped, please ask me anything else that I may have missed.

Good information!! Thanks...

The adjustments on the stock for LOP and Cheek Weld... Are they made with an Allen Key? or are they knobs?

If you don't mind me asking, what did you sell the used one for? I would not be opposed to getting a used one if the price was right.

Also do you have any pictures of what the rifle looked like with the A5 on it?

Trying to get a feel for what color I should get...

PhilaMike'
Here's my R700 in the B&C A5 Adjustable; OD with black spider web. I went with the OD/black spider web because darker things don't attract as much attention during the dusk and dawn hours as bright things do. And for camouflage, I wrap it in some of that burlap you see in the background and secure it with fake ivy that I bought at Michael's:

Pretty much just like the rest of them, but thanks anyway.

Remington 700, 5R, .308 Win.
Vortex Viper PST 6-24X 50mm FFP Mil-Mil
B&C A5 Adjustable
Jewell Trigger
Ross Schuler (RWS) muzzle brake
Harris Bi-Pod

Standard fare,but it's a DAMN good shooter!!!

Re: B&C Stock near Philadelphia

How much of a difference does the Jewell trigger make? I've seen a lot of people have them. Is it worth the difference in cost from just getting a trigger job done?

Re: B&C Stock near Philadelphia

They are made with an allen key. The riser is a different size then the LOP - does not make much sense. I sold mine for $350 plus shipping. After three days of nothing, I had four people lined up. I did not have enough posts to sell here, otherwise would have probably gone quicker.

Here it is with a SPS tactical:

...and in my first competition:

My groups immediately became actual groups by simply bolting this thing onto the action.

Hit me up for anything else.

Hard for me to say, PM.

I "grew up" on a Winchester 52D and Anschutz 1416 (?) Super Match pullin a Canjar set trigger. 1 pound for prone and kneeling and about 4 ounces for standing.

My Jewell, at 1.25 pounds, still feels a wee bit heavy to me, even in a hunting situation.

But, the Jewell is clean, crisp, with no creep or soft spot.

The Jewell is "there".
