okay so I need help with choosing.
I know there is a lot of stuff on this forum about this issue but i just want a black and white poll.

Things I want.
-Reliability
-Quality
-Sound dampening
-Customer service

If you could, tell me the reason why you picked what you did. If you would choose something else post a reason why.

Thank you!

Re: .22 suppressor help.

I have held and looked at both. I choose the Sparrow for the way they sealed the can and the extra seal at the barrel connection to keep the carbon from building up in the threads.

Re: .22 suppressor help.

Between those two the Sparrow, but neither of those two would be my first choice.

TBAC 22L-1, yet to hear anything quieter, half the weight of most magnum rated cans, quality cant be beat, customer service cant be beat. All for about the same price as the sparrow. If people tell you you need a take apart can theyre full of sht, shoot it and forget about if for about 20k rounds, then if it starts to get louder (IF) give it the dip and forget about it again. A take apart silencer is a compromise on sound and quality, sealed cans will always have more sound and accuracy potential.

Re: .22 suppressor help.

I have a stainless sparrow and I like it a lot. I also use a an outback 2.

The sparrow is not light, so it would not be my first choice on a pistol, but it does well on my rifles. It comes apart very easy to clean as well. It feels very solid. It is not as quiet as my outback, but it has also not been shot nearly as much, so there is a good chance it may settle down a little bit yet.

Accuracy wise, I cant tell the difference between the two at 50 or 100 yards.

Re: .22 suppressor help.

You might want to look at Liberty Suppressors' Shoofly can. Metered as one of the quietest 22 suppressors on Silencerresearch.com. It is a sealed can, BUT if it ever starts to lose suppression capabilities due to build up (1.5 times the weight of original can), Liberty will clean it for you for free. Their prices are excellent as well.

They have some newer products out that are being well received too. Great products, customer service and pricing.

That was true only a few years ago, but no longer. Of the cans that meter well, quite a few are user serviceable. No longer a compromise, don't believe me, go shoot an AAC Element and get back to us.

Ok, been there done that, even had discussions with several suppressor manufactures that says the same thing. Sealed can is still best quality of sound, sound reduction and accuracy. Not necessarily by any leaps and bounds but still a bit better. However, customers want to take stuff apart...heck I do too, but facts are facts. A little carbon build up acts as an additional heat sink.
jonaddis84 IS correct. And Yes I have shot and sold several of the AAC Elements as well as most other brands.
Your expertise is what? And you have actually shot how many other cans?

Re: .22 suppressor help.

From all the cans I have sold and shot the AAC Element definitely has my vote for 22's.

Many of the people I run into at the store want to get into the NFA thing the cheapest they can and so we carry YHM. One of the guys at my department started his research for a 22 can. I helped him evaluate all the options. He went with the Element for a dual purpose setup, 22/45 and a threaded Savage 22 rifle. Yes the can cost him a little more but he is glad he went with it.

1- user serviceable, 22's will leave alot of fouling
2- great customer service
3- nasty quiet
