The new Kahles Tactical 6-24x is here, arrived this afternoon.

For those that didn't make it too SHOT, this is the scope that had a lot of the new buzz on the floor.

The highlight was the parallax adjustment under the elevation,

We'll be doing a review of this optic over the coming weeks.

Re: SH has the New Kahles Tactical in Hand

Being this is a new model, I expect options to be fairly limited while they gauge interest in it. I'd still like to know however what options are available such as MOA/Mil adjustments, which type reticles and any diagrams, illumination yes or no, and objective sizes. Regardless, I'll be looking forward to the report.

Re: SH has the New Kahles Tactical in Hand

I dont' have any product details as nothing was provided but the scope as you see it. No box, no paperwork, so I have no idea on cost, specs, etc...

Ken @ Kahles is a member and I am sure he can provide much more information than I can... but as it is, I know nothing beyond what you see and what is in my hand.

    LL,

I thought the side knob was for the Illumination?
Also whenever you get a chance did they still keep the MTC style parallax in that it clicked stronger for every 10 or 50 meters(can't remember the exact distance).

Re: SH has the New Kahles Tactical in Hand

I have found Kenneth to be very helpful and extremely knowledgeable. It was a pleasure meeting him and checking out offerings from Kahles.

Re: SH has the New Kahles Tactical in Hand

Who will be carrying Kahles and when? I have been waiting for them to be available again and to have an idea who will be supporting them.

it is, that was my mistake, the lack of manual box, etc, I turned it and assumed and didn't look.

It just arrived I took it out and snapped a picture...

But definitely illumination, and not focus.

Re: SH has the New Kahles Tactical in Hand

that had me scratching the head, how would they separate focus from parallax when both involve adjusting the same lens

I'm almost 100% positive that this model (or one very very like it) sells in Europe for around 2600USD.

Re: SH has the New Kahles Tactical in Hand

Glass should be stellar just like all Kahles.

Re: SH has the New Kahles Tactical in Hand

One of our European members here has one, just don't feel right throwing his name out so I'll wait for him to chime in. He posted some pictures here a while back maybe he can post some thoughts about it and or through the scope pictures.

Re: SH has the New Kahles Tactical in Hand

Here is a crappy pic I took through the scope at shot. The mil dots are sort of PR styled (gen 2 mil dot) and it has an S&B styled (P4F) stadia section below. Sadly, I don't remember the price I was quoted but it was an msrp anyway so may or may not resemble street prices.

I can't wait to read your write-up L.L. Will be nice to hear when it's available and what the street price will be.

Re: SH has the New Kahles Tactical in Hand

Looking forward to the review LL.

    Ken,

I see several reticle options but don't see examples of them..

Can you provide images of MIL3, MIL4, MIL5 and MIL6 (I think that's right) at lowest and highest magnifications? This would be very helpful.

    Thanks

Re: SH has the New Kahles Tactical in Hand

I own 3 Kahles scopes and really like them. That being said I thought Kahles was dead in the water as far as dealers and support in the USA. I hope they make a great come back. I used their customer service before under Kahles USA and they really treated me well. I have a lot of respect for their products and the customer service I have used.

Re: SH has the New Kahles Tactical in Hand

That's a hearty price tag. I'm curious to see how it stacks up against the big boys. Initial thoughts?

Re: SH has the New Kahles Tactical in Hand

I would submit Kahles is a big boy.

Been around a long time and well known in the hunting community, as well back in the day with Steyr on the SSG.

Great glass, solid track record with reliability, this scope maintain the traditions.

Re: SH has the New Kahles Tactical in Hand

My first precision scopes were a couple of ZF69s & ZF85, on a Steyr SSG P1 & temporarily on a couple loaner rifles.

Outstanding glass, 26mm steel tubes & a very usable reticle.

I hope the new crop of Kahles lives up to their fine heritage.

Re: SH has the New Kahles Tactical in Hand

I've got a 3-9x42 Kahles on a hunting rifle. I must say, it gives up very little (if anything) to my Zeiss Victory as far as clarity and low-light abilities.

Kahles is a solid scope with high end Euro glass for sure. Look forward to the review.

Re: SH has the New Kahles Tactical in Hand

I'm a big fan of Kahles. I think their glass is right there with zeiss and their customer service has been outstanding for me. I have only had to use them for getting accessories/parts and for answering questions but they were very responsive and shipping from Austria was fast.

It seems they have been focusing on the high end market in the past few years. I bet the 624i is as good as advertised but I would love to see them focus more on a middle tier scope. A Kahles CL in say 3-12x44 with a multizero turret between $1000-$1300 would be ideal for me. A man can dream...

With that being said, if I like the reviews and reticles offered for the 624i I might just pick one up this year.

Re: SH has the New Kahles Tactical in Hand

Looking forward to LL's review as well. I personally would love to see a 3-15/18 or 4-20 mag range included in their line up.

Re: SH has the New Kahles Tactical in Hand

very cool scope, hmmm another option to try out

Re: SH has the New Kahles Tactical in Hand

I've been playing with the K312 sine we received one last week and I am very impressed with the scope. Optically it is everything that I would expect coming out of Austria (on par with German manufacturers). Nice solid clicks on windage and elevation. I really like how the parallax has a deep detent on the yardage markers (I don't think it's necessary but its a cool feature) and I like the revolution indicator as well.

Thinking really hard about betting rid of my current scope on my LMT and replacing it with this one.

Also looking forward to comments from the community as well.

Re: SH has the New Kahles Tactical in Hand

+1 Austrian glass. This will definitely make for much tighter competition between S&B and Kahles here in the US (public sector anyhow).

Re: SH has the New Kahles Tactical in Hand

I look forward in hearing more as well. I have had a ZF69 and ZF84 on the SSGs I picked up in Germany, and own a few of their WWII sniper scopes as well. Have always been impressed with Kahles optics.

Re: SH has the New Kahles Tactical in Hand

208 area code...does Kahles have an office in Idaho?

Nightforce and Kahles in this state?! Damn I love this place!
