Building a 284, have a Surgeon 1086R action and the Surgeon DBM (300WM aics) to go with it.

My question is what Jewell trigger fits this...I would want the HVR top right safety with NO bolt stop right? Would this be drop in basically for the surgeon?

Trying to get the options squared away so I can get the stock ordered. Planning on a A3 w/ sniper fill, with the adjustable comb.

So my second question is, on a scoped rifle is there any reason for the thumbwheel? Does it work better than the set screw type of adjustments? I haven't had a mcmillan so not sure which adjustment is best. While were at it where is the best place to have the flushcups placed? Seems like top left of the buttstock and far forward on the fore-end would be good.

No idea on trigger...

Do yourself a favor, and make sure to get the KMW "loggerhead" cheekpiece. Its the best, period. Don't waste time/money on anything else. If McM doesn't offer it that way, buy one with NO cheekpiece and send it to "stockdoc" here on the hide. He'll supply and install the hardware. Great work, reasonably priced.

Solved.

I'm a flushcup whore. I install 7 of them:

Left/right side ~3" from end of forearm
Left/right side buttstock, 1" from end, 1" up from bottom
One on bottom of buttstock, 1" from end
one on bottom of forearm, just rearward of my pic rail for Atlas
One on the front of the forearm

Thanks Turbo I'm gonna have to put you on retainer...

KMW loggerhead looks awesome, I think now I was about to make a mistake ordering the mcmillan adjustable hardware.

Anyone have a surgeon action and a jewell HVR with top right safety?
