I'm starting to gather bits together for a new rifle project, but don't want to pay $300 for a set of dies as is wanted by one of the custom die makers. The caliber is .338 -74R Keith. In case you're not familiar with it, it is just a 9.3 x 74 rimmed case sized to .338 and blown out a bit fatter. It was designed in '72 by Elmer Keith with help from Clymer, RCBS and Hodgedon. I need a set of dies! I'll be using a tapered octagon barrel mounted on a spare Ruger #1 action. That's why i want the rimmed case, it just looks right for single shot rifles. Soooo, if you know where I can come by a set of dies for this old Wildcat cartridge, please let me know. I know it's easier to just make a regular old .338 Magnum, particularly since I have a reamer and the dies, but heck, that's no fun. Think of how cool that 4" long cartridge will look being slipped into the chamber.

What it will do in .338 is shoot a 300 gr. bullet 1000 yards. with less than 1000 fps loss in velocity.
