Is that the factory "clip slot" in that action?
You may want to ask George, but I'm not sure that's the technically correct action action for your build, I think the M40A1s were all machined to have the clip slot in them and it looked a little different. May not matter to you and I'm sure it will never be sold, but if your kid's kid sells it to buy a house someday then the correct action might make a difference.
Either way, can't wait to see it done!

I am not sure what blank they will use, but the goal is to be as close a replica as possible. The MST-100 is sitting in the safe.

This is a "six digit" action that is just a little earlier than the original M40A1 actions. The Clip-Slot is from the factory and the back of the USO MST-100 mount seems to fit perfectly. The front just needs to be opened up. However I am sending the mount along because I don't know if it's correct for the bridge height since Remington changed it along the way.

George put a Schneider on my M40A1 tribute (#7 Marine Contour)...if I recall that is the barrel they use on their standard M40A1 clone and was the original spec'd barrel? Shoots really well!
You're going to end up with one hell of a nice rig!
