I'm sure that there are others who know more than I do, so they can fill in any blanks that I may have here for the Mod5 and Mod6. I've seen the other Mod's, but aren't familiar enough with them by model to even want to take a wag.....

- Remington Long Action Receiver (I've actually seen several with the new Stiller Mk13 actions though - essentially a Tac300)
- 26" Lilja Barrel, contoured to accept a KAC Mk11 suppressor
- Accuracy International Long Action AICS
- Remington (actually made by Badger) MARS rail
- KAC Mk11 suppressor
- Optics are Nightforce 3.5-15x50 SFP or 3.5-15x50F1 FFP for Army rifles and 5.5-22x56 for Navy models. Have seen others though to include the occasional HDMR, S&B or USO

Mk13 Mod6 - I haven't seen any fielded yet though

- Stiller Mk13 Action - very similar to the Tac300
- 26" Lilja Barrel, threaded for a suppressor
- Accuracy International Long Action AX Chassis
- I've heard that both Surefire and AAC suppressors are acceptable
- Optics will either be the S&B PSR scope, Nightforce 3.5-15x50F1 or 5.5-22x56 depending on the unit who orders them.

My understanding is that the latest one's will have a Surefire FH; not a brake, and the SF 7.62K can.

Thanks for the correction on FH vs Brake, but I've heard that both Surefire 762K and AAC 300SD cans are available for it.

-Rem 700 LA, 300 WM
-M16 extractor mod
-27" Lilja barrel
-A191 chamber
-McM A2 stock, spacer system,saddle c/p
-McCann MIRS rail
-NF 5.5-22 x 56 with high rings

and an in house manufactured recoil lug, "L" shaped, that is threaded for a third action screw-has been posted about in a recent thread.

I don't know when the Mod 0 would have entered service (1990's?) but is obviously superceded by the Mod 5 and newer versions.

There are some decent photos of the Mod 0 in Mir Bahmanyars book "SEALs The US Navy's Elite Fighting Force" and the old 2008 Badger Ord sniper rifle calender. Some are shown supressed and others not.

My attempt at a copy, less the Crane manufactured recoil lug:

this one has a Tubb lug and an as yet unpainted PTG steel floorplate. Barrel is a Krieger as well.

Next time I'll stick with medium tan as a base colour for the stock, not light tan!!

Corrosion resistant coating on firing pin and markings.

It's also marked "Mk13 .300WM" as the model instead of "Tac 300". Mine is round instead of having the flat milled in like other Stiller Tac actions. I'll try to get some pics up this weekend.

I called and asked Stiller about the action this morning. They said no. I also emailed Lilja about the new barrel specifications and availability but have not heard back yet.

I contacted Dan Lilja today trying to get a barrel for my MK13 build. He said that the taper for the suppressor on the new barrels are same as the mod 5.

My understanding is that the Mk13 marked actions are for military rifles only. As someone else already posted, they are not selling them commercially.

While I'm certainly not questioning Dan Lilja's knowledge on the matter, I wonder if he's had to crank out any barrels for the Mod6 yet? I don't see why they'd use the Mk11 suppressor contour for a muzzle mounted can. I do know they've built Mod5's using the Stiller action, so maybe they haven't finished up that run yet.....

The last time I talked with Chris Higgins at Crane, he told me the new barrel suppressor combo is not decided yet. I dont think it will be the over the barrel KAC type again by what I understood. As soon as that is decided, we will be coming out with a clone rifle. The action is not available to the general market at this time. The few that are out there were done for company reasons that the buyers were involved in the solicitations for parts etc.

When I was at Crane, they were going to use the new Remington trigger because it was qualified. The project said that the rules for changing triggers was so tough that even they could not afford it.

From pictures online it looks like the Mod 2 is the same as the Mod 5 but has a Leupold mark 4 LR/T with M3 turrets and is not contoured for the KAC MK11 supressor.

Why are they updating the MK13 again when they are getting the PSR?

The 762K can is 300WM rated according to the info I got straight from Surefire, and I have absolutely no reason to doubt it since Surefire and AAC split the new Mk13 can contract.

Damn it now there is another (guessing) $7000 I'm about to spend to get a 300wm and now my wife is probably gonna start talking about leaving me again. At least my rifles don't judge me for spending time and money on them!

Curious to know if the timeline has been reconsidered for the release of the Stiller 300 WIN MAG actions.

As an update on the MK13 AX, included is a 20 MOA Action rail for the 'Tac 300' action, matches up to the holes on the MK13 action as you'd expect and should make for a singular 20 MOA plane action to forend. Also is annodized just likethe rest of the Aluminium. It suprised me none of the side rails have any MOA in them.
 
Well gentelmen, I like many of you want to have a MK13 built up. In my research I have come across some open source stuff......so If I am off base ... please let me know.

It looks like a few solicitations have gone out over the last couple years. In 2010/11 a 5 year FFP(firm fixed price [Price of each barrel is fixed, reguardless of production/material cost]) IDIQ (Idefinate Delivery, Indefinate Quantity [We buy as litte or as many as we want]) was awarded for Mk13/15 Barrels. I can't find it, but an earlier JFOC (justification for other than full and open comp [ IE, Sole Source non competitive award]) was approved for a redacted company in 2012ish. Some of the verbiage was due to testing expense that they needed this companies products to save time/money. I would venture to guess Lija is no longer the manufacture of barrels.

Also, something else interesting is a Market Research posting last month from CRANE, to find a carbon fiber replacement barrel for the MK13. This is the first step to guage what is out there, so a formal requirement and RFP (request for proposal) can be issued. It looks like they either want to shave some weight off this beast or there is someone making CF barrels that shoot better/longer than legacy steel barrels. Part of the requirement was 7500 rounds... Sounds like ALOT for a 300WM?

I have this same question too. I think a Stiller MK13 action would look great in a MK13 Mod 5 clone.
