Re: Larue Tactical 556 OBR. Let's see some other OBR's

Very Nice.....

I think I need one of those, what are you feeding it and how is the accuracy.

Re: Larue Tactical 556 OBR. Let's see some other OBR's

I'm a fan.... Very nice piece of kit.

I have only shot it once, yesterday. I used XM-193 55g. I will try Black Hills 77g next. I was around 1.5 MOA with the 55g.

Re: Larue Tactical 556 OBR. Let's see some other OBR's

Mine shoots 3/4 with FGMM 77gr. I'm sure the black hills will do better than the XM stuff. I can get less than 1/2" with handloads.

Is that a 5 shot group? Do you have a 16" barrel. Thanks

Congrats on the OBR!!! I just received mine a couple of weeks ago and am very happy with it. I also shot the XM193 and was 1.5-2.0 MOA with it. I shot some Black Hills softpoints, blue box, and was shooting under 1 MOA with it. I haven't shot any "good" ammo through it yet, though.
The rifle came with the test group from LaRue, using Fed Gold Medal Match, at .585" for 100yds. I'd like to try some FGGM to see if I can get close to that.

I topped my OBR with a Vortex PST 4-16X FFP in MIL/MIL...I really like it. Wednesday I'll stretch her legs out to 200 yds at my local range and see what we can do together.

71 Cars,

Is that the Foliage Green furniture from Magpul on your OBR? If you don't mind me asking, what dealer did you obtain yours from? Every dealer is quoting 14-16 weeks

It's OD Green and Rifle Gear in OC, CA had them in stock for a while, but I guess is now offering back orders.

Really nice looking rig. I am also going to get some FGMM and see whats what. Did they tell you that a 16" barrel will hold the same as an 18"-20" out to 600 yards?

Re: Larue Tactical 556 OBR. Let's see some other OBR's

ace996, what is the exact FGMM load Larue shot .595" with?

Re: Larue Tactical 556 OBR. Let's see some other OBR's

Ace996, are you able to get behind that T1? I thought that mount was for putting on your top rail, which would suck it up closer to your main optic and not require rolling the rifle as far. Or did the big scope require moving it down? Does it work OK on the side rail like that?

Re: Larue Tactical 556 OBR. Let's see some other OBR's

Handled the OBR in the local gunstore. First impressions were the 3 big straight bars running down both sides and the bottom were incredibly uncomfortable. Not sure who thought that was a good idea? Felt like I was holding three 1/2 square steel bars that dug into my hand. So to fix that you would have to mount rails and then some type of rail cover making it huge to hold.

Not for me....

Re: Larue Tactical 556 OBR. Let's see some other OBR's

Read up, friend. They make covers that go directly onto the forend and provide traction and a gentler surface profile. Look at the end-on pic above with the T1 mounted, you can see the covers.

Re: Larue Tactical 556 OBR. Let's see some other OBR's

I have a 16" OBR 5.56 and a 7.62 being shipped this week. I LOVE my 5.56 and cannot wait for the 7.62 to arrive! No clue how to post pics on the hide as this is my second post, any help on that?

Yep, a tactical-twist counter clockwise and the T1 (clone from Primary Arms) is right above the barrel. I had the T1clone mounted on the top rail with an old Bushy3-9 and it was a little rotation...but the Vortex has some BIG tactical turrets and the windage knob blocked my T1. So I just mounted it on the 3 o'clock rail...a little more rotation for proper line-up but it works well and I'm pretty quick with it.

Be good,
TomK

See those rail covers?...they are incredible, and come with the rifle.

It's a bit tricky as you will need a Photo Bucket account. Easy to set that up. Load your photos on to Photo Bucket and then transfer them on to the Hide using HTML. My 15 year old son had to walk me through it....
