Budsgunshop order, 11 days after payment and still

Re: Budsgunshop order, 11 days after payment and still

I live about 5 miles from Bud's. It's now called "The Gun Warehouse" and they are a joke. 90% of the people that work there don't know shit about firearms and spew verbal crap. I dont go in there unless I need the indoor pistol range to practice due to weather.

Re: Budsgunshop order, 11 days after payment and still

I think some people misunderstood my post... I'm not saying not to buy from Bud's ( or any other online source ) I'm happy to collect a transfer fee too... my point was, if you buy from online, don't expect it RIGHT now...

between their internal shipping dept, the actual shipper, the fact that payment doesn't always post to the seller's account as soon as it comes out of the buyer's account, etc, etc...

10 days to 2 weeks wait, just isn't enough to freak out on the internet over.

IF you want it yesterday.. go buy it local... not off the internet.

Re: Budsgunshop order, 11 days after payment and still

Every local gun shop Ive dealt with has been great. I have a ruger MK III that went kaput on me not long after I got it, the next time I was in the store I got it from I mentioned it and he insisted I bring it by, their smith looked at and "fixed" it, same problem kept happening. I took it back to them and he apologized, tried to find a new gun in stock to replace it with but didnt have one, and is now sending it back to ruger for me. Ive yet to find any gun at $400 more than what I can find on the net (unless theres a sale) usually its not more than 50-100 bucks. I am a sucker for deals tho and still snatch things off the net every now and than but I would much rather deal with local stores

As a dealer, I can tell you, Bud's in NOT making a killing on a gun (nobody honest is) so it's cheap. The way they make every extra penny is buy not warehousing everything, and using the USPS for shipping, so it's not fast. Perfect, well they're factory guns, but Bud's has a good return policy, which is as close to perfect as you can ask.

IF you want it right now, AND you want to inspect it for ever little defect that can occur... STOP ordering it off the internet, at the cheapest place you can find and SUPPORT your local dealers.

And, stop beating us up with "but I can get it online for XXX"... yeah you can, but then you still have to pay shipping (usually) and pay a transfer fee, and you don't have ME to deal with it if there's a problem.

I hear you on the FFL transfer fee. It's about $130 here locally! Brutal!

Re: Budsgunshop order, 11 days after payment and still

I am going through the same hell with Budsgunshop.com

I did a Buy It Now auction of theirs on 02/27. I paid immediately for the item and sent my FFL info. The next morning they sent me their automated form so I resent them the FFL info. Towards the end of the day on the 28th I called in to verify they had everything they needed. They said Yes.

Note.. You can't call the numbers they give you for the auctions or to track status. those phone numbers don't work. Sending e-mails doesn't work either. they don't reply to emails.

It is now tow weeks later, and this In-Stock item still hasn't shipped. In fact this morning I got an automated note that my order just went to the shipping department. WTH??? where has it been the last two weeks then.

I called a couple of times to see what the delay is and they just said they are busy and asked if there is anything else they could help me with. Apparently, it is their right to take 2+ weeks to ship an "In-Stock" item.

In short, their shipping times suck. Their "In-stock" items are not in their stock, and the customer service is miserable. Aside from these things, Budsgunshop is a great place.

After all, they did charge my card right away, so they do take your money promptly.

Needless to say, I won't order from them again. STAY AWAY!!!!

Re: Budsgunshop order, 11 days after payment and still

Sorry Doeboy, but I don't like the deceit that many in the gun industry are pulling.

In-Stock: means that you have it in your warehouse (i.e. your employees can walk out, put the item in a box and ship it).

If your supplier, your grandmother, your brother in law, have it in stock, or can get it in stock someday. You can't advertise it as In-Stock.

If your own shipping department cant walk out and put a hand on it, IT's NOT IN STOCK.

Saying you have it in stock, then ordering it from a 3rd party distributor is certainly not in stock. Budsgunshop is lying their asses off when they say they have this stuff in stock.

Re: Budsgunshop order, 11 days after payment and still

I used to use Buds but I have gone to hinterlandoutfitters.com. Lately, their prices have been as good as Buds and sometimes better, they seem to have more guns in stock, and service is much better. Seem to ship much faster than Buds did. You might give them a try.

Re: Budsgunshop order, 11 days after payment and still

I've ordered atleast 30 guns from buds and every one of them has shipped the same day or next if its after 3pm or so if I payed with CC. I ordered 2 AR15's from them at the beginning of last week but this time payed by E-check which claims 6 days to clear and my order was in the shipping department today.

I was a little dissapointed in their E-check settlement process though. Monday when I placed the order it my bank showed the authorization charge immediately and wednesday it was settled by my bank. It showed "settling" on their end up until today which I don't see why they feel the need to take an extra three business days to settle it when the money cleared both banks obviously but ohh well. It was still updated to shipping 5 business days after placing the order which is a day less than there quoted max time so I guess I can't complain too much.

I like buds though and will continue to do business with them.

Re: Budsgunshop order, 11 days after payment and still

I received an email from them last week about shipping delays:

"If you are not already aware of what is going on in the firearms industry, there is no doubt you soon will be via the media. Our sales in the month of February were over FIVE TIMES what they were back in February 2009 following the last presidential election...and you may recall those were some pretty crazy times ! We did plan for 2012 to be another challenging election year....but we admittedly did not plan for this level of volume, and definitely not this early in the year !"

This may explain your delayed shipment. In the past, they always shipped ASAP to me. My recent order showed a 4 day delay.

Re: Budsgunshop order, 11 days after payment and still

I just called Buds to verify there wasn't a problem with my order since it's showed shipping for a few days now and I was worried I didn't get my guns since they went out of stock shortly after they received my payment.

The guy I spoke with said they are having a problem with the system and my order has already shipped even though its showing shipping. If you've got a order that's showing shipping I wouldn't panic, it may have been shipped just like mine but a call to them will tell you exactly whats wrong.

Re: Budsgunshop order, 11 days after payment and still

Buds has done some crazy business lately. I just bought a FNS9mm and waited 8 days. Every other time I have ordered from them, I have received it in just a couple. I was talking to my FFL and he said in just one week "one" , he did 48 transfers from Bud's alone. Do the math on that one.

Re: Budsgunshop order, 11 days after payment and still

i placed my order on the 12th it went into the shipping department on the 13th and i am hoping i get an email today that it has shipped but im not holding my breath.

Re: Budsgunshop order, 11 days after payment and still

I ordered a Rem 700 mil spec over two weeks ago from Buds. Just got the tracking numbers 2hrs ago. I was not happy with the time it took to ship a gun that was listed in stock. My credit card was charged seconds after placing the order. The real kick in the balls is I just left for a job so it's going to be 3 plus weeks before I am home.

If I could have found the gun around home I would have paid more just not have to wait.

Re: Budsgunshop order, 11 days after payment and still

I was going to order a savage FVSR and saw it on there for as good a price as anywhere and when I went back the next day to order it was then marked as a special gun (can't remember exactly what they called it) and I had to buy a membership for $25 just for the ability to buy this thing? No thanks. It's not that the $25 was a lot of money. Just principle.

Re: Budsgunshop order, 11 days after payment and still

It took 2 weeks from the time I ordered to just get a note saying that my order was in the shipping department. After I waited on hold and finally got hold of a manager, he couldn't/wouldn't tell me where my order had been for 2 weeks before going the the shipping department.

We did discuss Buds idea of in-stock. He said Buds considers the item in-stock if:
- The have the item in their warehouse
- One of their distributors shows it in stock.
- OR "if their supplier usually show it in stock".

The last one is ridiculous. I told the manager that it is unethical to say an item is in-stock if they have to order it from their supplier. It is especially unethical if they can't even see their suppliers inventory. He confirmed that is their policy. IMO a company that does this has no integrity.

The manager said my item shipped but could not provide me with a tracking number. IF they actually shipped the item, that means it took 2.5 weeks to ship an in-stock item.

The only thing Buds has done right is took my money. They charge my card right away, 2 weeks before shipping my order.

I won't buy from them again. They claim they have items in stock which they don't. That's a lack of integrity. I'll vote with my dollars.

Re: Budsgunshop order, 11 days after payment and still

I have bought 2 things from buds this month.. sure it takes 7-10 days to ship..

but I am also saving $50 plus free shipping..

I all of a sudden get over the wait.

Man, that's crazy! After you do the math knowing there was that much business just with your FFL holder, I feel sorry for the staff at Bud's. Think about the headache they must have with this business rush.

Always have enjoyed Bud's, though. Have never ordered something from them online, as I am only an hour away from Lexington, but every time I pay them a visit, they are a great help to the customers who need it and are very insightful on all their products. Not to mention, they have one of the only in-door ranges around here from what I understand.

Re: Budsgunshop order, 11 days after payment and still

Pretty much sums up my one experience with Buds

quote=Abq-Defense]It took 2 weeks from the time I ordered to just get a note saying that my order was in the shipping department. After I waited on hold and finally got hold of a manager, he couldn't/wouldn't tell me where my order had been for 2 weeks before going the the shipping department.

Re: Budsgunshop order, 11 days after payment and still

typical I ordered a trap gun from them same scenario. I think they show the item in stock. then order it from somewhere else. and the price listed is not what is charged. they tack on a credit card user fee. bad experience will not repeat.

Re: Budsgunshop order, 11 days after payment and still

Same experience here:

I wish I would have seen this thread prior to purchasing. I bought a mossberg 930 turkey gun from a buy it now auction. I paid with a cashier's check, sent a copy of the FFL filled out with my information, and a copy of the online auction. They had the check and all info 4 days ago and I haven't heard a thing from them, except that they got my money. The item was shown in stock on the auction and I even double checked their website to see if they had it in stock. Their automated phone system is a joke and the number listed on the auction directs you to get another number to call after you already wasted 5 minutes calling the first number. I honestly feel like I'm dealing with a government agency with all the call this number, to get directed to this number, to be placed on hold, to be told nothing, then hang up not being any farther ahead than I was 30 minutes ago.

This will be the last business they get from me.

Re: Budsgunshop order, 11 days after payment and still

I will gladly pay more if I have to and buy locally. Don't have the time or desire to deal with companies that choose to conduct business like this.

Re: Budsgunshop order, 11 days after payment and still

Word to the wise, never pay with cash, money order, check or debit and always use a credit card. That way you can do a charge back and let the on-line retailers deal with the massive Visa, Mastercard and Amex brutes.

this is good advice, being charged the 3% fee is better than dealing with being out all of the money

Re: Budsgunshop order, 11 days after payment and still

I finally got my gun. I talked to my FFL about Buds use of the work "In-stock". He confirmed that much of their stuff is shipped from a distributor and in fact, they are instructed to not list Buds Guns as the seller as it indeed comes a 3rd party.

So, Buds clearly lists things as In-Stock, even when they order it from a 3rd party company.

My order took way longer than it should have, and I wouldn't have it yet if I hadn't called a manager and raised hell. When I was on the line, he called the distributor and told them to find my gun and ship it right away.

If you don't care when you get your gun, order from Buds. If you order from Buds because you see they have it in-stock, you may be very disappointed.

Re: Budsgunshop order, 11 days after payment and still

Buds= sell the item first, figure out how to deliver later
