Suppressors swr spectre vs aac prodigy????

Re: swr spectre vs aac prodigy????

The prodigy has had key holing issues and I have seen several people that have a real difficult time getting them apart once they put a significant number of rounds through it.

Between those two I'd go with the spectre.

Re: swr spectre vs aac prodigy????

I'm signing up for a Spectre II, based on it's durability, lack of first round pop, and price. I've no experience with either. If I had a bit more money, I'd get the Sparrow since it is supposed to be less sensitive to timely cleanings.

I have a sparrow. It's super easy to clean. No worries of the baffles getting stuck. On the down side it has a pronounced FRP. I know all cans do, but it seems a touch louder than others.

Re: swr spectre vs aac prodigy????

I run a spectre. It rocks. Absolutely no regrets.

I communicated with rsilvers of AAC concerning my 300 whisper vs the 300 AAC Blackout.

I also spoke with Henry at SWR on using the Octane 9 HD on my whisper.

I'm in the market for a 45 can.

Based on aforementioned past experiences, I'm waiting for SWR to produce a 45 version of the Octane. I don't know if they plan to, but I can't support someone (rsilvers) who treats me like an idiot when I have relevant comparability questions that are not published.

Re: swr spectre vs aac prodigy????

Have both.

Prefer the Prodigy for 22LR. Spectre for the other calibers it is rated for.

Re: swr spectre vs aac prodigy????

I love my Spectre. I looked at AAC, SWR, and Silencerco. They all make nice cans, but i liked the design of the spectre better. I can not hear any FRP over other rounds fired, but maybe i am deaf, or it is a great design. My vote for the Spectre.

Re: swr spectre vs aac prodigy????

I like my Spectre, but it's heavy. For a pistol I'd look at the TBAC lines since they are much lighter hanging out there.

Re: swr spectre vs aac prodigy????

Have both. Like both.
Spectre usually stays on the rifle, because weight, and the Prodigy stays on the pistols, because of weight.
I dont care for the interupted threads on the prodigy as they are hard to start sometimes.
