Hey Gang,

Has anyone had any issues with the magnification on the new SS 5-20X50? When I move the magnification into past around 15X it the sight picture poor and darkens considerably. At 20X it is exceptionally darkened and of little use. Don't get me wrong I love the scope and SWFA is top notch I was just curious if this is a defective scope or consistent with other observations. Thanks

Re: SWFA SS 5-20X50 Magnification Question

Mine doesn't do that at all. Call SWFA.

Re: SWFA SS 5-20X50 Magnification Question

Neither does mine. Some have stated that the eye box get a bit finicky above 15, but I have not had an issue with that either.

Call. Mine actually stays pretty bright at 20x.

Re: SWFA SS 5-20X50 Magnification Question

there is something wrong with your scope, SWFA will make it right. NO worries with them.

Re: SWFA SS 5-20X50 Magnification Question

Mine doesn't do that. But no worries man the guys at SWFA are great to talk and I have no doubt they will make it right.

Re: SWFA SS 5-20X50 Magnification Question

Maybe you have it mounted to close, the eye relief gets longer as the magnification increases. I would try mounting it farther forward.

Re: SWFA SS 5-20X50 Magnification Question

Update, there is nothing wrong with this scope accept the operator. It was just me as the magnification increases the amount of light is reduced slightly. I was looking at it inside my house which was ok lighting for the lower magnifications but as I moved up it was very poor lighting conditions to make a determination. I took it to work and had several others test is as well as I and did not experience this issue when dealing with exterior lighting. The scope is great it was just user error and not experimenting further before opening my mouth. Thanks for the input though.

Re: SWFA SS 5-20X50 Magnification Question

Anyone have a problem getting the reticle to be razor sharp past 15x?
