What the hell!
Are those dogs killing shit?
Have a Jack Russel mix that will go in a hole after a groundhog
all day. Thought he was a goner till the little bastard ran the fucker out of his hole! Would have lost money on it the first time!!!
Never heard of this breed.Would like to check them out some more.

I had a Jag years ago and used him for coyote hunting. I wish he would have been a little bit bigger. Good dog though. He eventually got killed by a trio of old coyotes. The Airedales I use now have the same mentality, but are a lot bigger and hold up to a full grown coyote better.

One of my buddies bought one of those dogs about a year ago and they're so handy he just bought another one. He runs a big cattle ranch/hunting outfitter business and he uses the dogs to flush pheasants, blood trail deer and work cattle and they're amazingly good at all three. The older one found 2 deer this past season they NEVER would have found w/o the dog. Thought about getting one myself.

JAGDS!! Best all around dog there is.
Here is my 6 month old female, her name is JOEY. She is doing awesome on the birds so far. Havent gotten her onto any fur yet, just feathers. Well except for the neighbors cat that found itself in the backyard at the wrong time....

In my post above ^^^ I put links to a few breeders/kennels. Contact them and see if/when they will have pups.
I have a buddy here that just had a litter hit the ground if you are seriously interested. He is in San Diego CA. Let me know if you want to contact him.

As D. Dave says, It's a pure hunter's breed with hunting as it's only purpose. Here in sweden and the rest of europe we use them for hogs, moose, deer, fox, and badgers as they track,run and bay allmost any game.
But they do work quite well indoors with family and kids when not hunting. Here's my daugther playin' with one of our Jagdterriers.

super cool write up, wife has talked about wanting another smaller dog, might have to try to sneek one of these in. sleeping with a 100# dobe and another big dog would be too much.

I keep trying to find a good dog but everytime I do one of those online tests to see what kind of dog would be best, it turns out the dog is smarter than I am!

Females typically 18-22lbs, Males 20-25lbs
They are a pretty small dog, but dont let that fool you. They are as Hard as a dog can possibly be.
They have probably been used to hunt more species than any other dog. And they do it well. They really are one of the most versatile breeds. They are certified for both above and below ground work. They have webbed feet for swimming. Great blood-trackers.

A friend had one in Africa years ago. It was an outstanding tracker on wounded game and could find warthog dens like nothing I have ever seen. I had forgotten that breed existed as it is not common in the USA. I am glad you posted and reminded me how fantastic and game that breed is. I have a lab and a jack russell that are both getting old. I will strongly consider a jagdterrier for my next dog.

Filled my Doe Tag and had Joey run the track. Her first time on a real deer track, until then it had just been scent trails I have made for her with a piece of hide or blood in a squirt bottle. Deer covered about 350yds from where I jumped her, to where I shot her, then to where she expired. Joey ran the track perfectly.

My oldest male Cato after 6 hours of ground work.
It first started out as a driven hunt on deer and boar. He then went underground and found these badgers.
Used my trusty ruger single six (22lr) on these big badgers. Dog is now recovering at home.
