Been searching for a while now to locate an in stock Springfield Loaded in the black stainless, just got off the phone with another half a dozen dealers and finally called Springfield just to see if they were actually doing anything down there.

Its great to see that manufacturers cant keep up with demand, but damn it you know all the people without jobs and you cant ramp up enough production to keep a single one in Central MN? Seems like a joke if you ask me and yet another way for the gun industry to ensure pricing stays high on products.

And before anyone says stand in line and quit bitching, I was told direct from Springfield to expect a 2-6 month wait. Its a production gun for fucks sake!!!

FIGURE IT OUR SPRINGFIELD!!!

Rant off... Sorry guys

Re: Springfield supply

Welcome to my life.

These days if you want a 1911, you pretty much either buy it off of Gunbroker (assuming there's any left there), or buy whatever model happens to be in stock at the dealer.

The time for being picky has passed, unless you're extremely patient and willing to shell out dollars and wait months.

Re: Springfield supply

It's business for them. It isn't worth investing in increasing output for a temporarily inflated demand. It's just like the AR market immediately following the 2008 election. It doesn't make fiscal sense for them to do so when it is bound to drop off again. People are buying guns and ammo in spades right now. When it goes back to what it was before, they don't want to be left with a bunch of new machines and personnel, and I can't blame them.
