Would like to have a tactical type bolt handle knob put on my rifle. Anybody have a recommendation as to who could do the work and how much would it cost.
My gun is a Rem 700.........

Re: Bolt handle knob

Badger Ordnance. The knob itself is $36 MSRP. Not sure what they charge for installation, but they do offer it.

Re: Bolt handle knob

Get in contact with Keith and Brad at PCR Phoenix Custom Rifles. They Do Awesome work you can do a search for them on the hide to see their work. Its top notch and I reccomend them without hesitation. According to their website price is $90 which includes cerakote of the knob in your choice of color. The way the attach the knob is very nice as well. Give them a call and if you end up having them do it Im sure you will be happy. They've got a lot of really cool styles too and will work with you if you wanted it modified to your style or needs.

Re: Bolt handle knob

I've been trying to get in contact with STR here on the hide. He's here locally and close to where I live. He posted some great video segments on truing the 700 action. I'm new to the hide and don't know my way around. What would the best way to contact someone here??

Thanks guy's

You can do a lookup if you know his username or if you saw a post he made click on his screen name when your logged in and he should have a public email address listed that you can email him at. Or just click send PM

Glad you like it, looks great with that classic cartridge.

Re: Bolt handle knob

That brass case on the end of the bolt knob looks sharp.

Hi roggom, saw this post from you with your daughter's shell case incorporated i knob. I would like this knob too, but there are several users here with "gordo" in their username. How did you contact him ? I would like to get in touch with the right guy in order to purchase exactly that knob you show in the picture. Best regards, and thanks.

Yes, thank you, I know. But I just fell in love with that particular one and the fitting done on it. Merry Christmas to you all.

If you have a Dremel tool and a tap and die set you can do it your self in 30 minutes. I believe theres a write up on this site on how to do it.

El Gordo 2. You wouldn't be able to do that to a tikka would you? Love the one with the 7mm mag brass !, would love that on my new build?

I had Short Action Customs do mine.

On Rem 700s, they also reinforce the handle in that area.

I had the bolt back in a bit over a week. 8 - 9 days door to door, IIRC.

Once I get to the custom touch phase of my build, I am definitely going to have to order from Gordo. The inletted brass case is a fantastic idea!

I had Phoenix Custom Rifles do mine. I didn't like the standard ones on their site so they made mine specific for me. Great guys.

Make all sorts of knobs, different strokes for different folks.

Very nice. Me likey!

I really like the one GAP puts on their rifles. I've got a GAP and another rifle that Short Action Customs did with the Badger. I like the Badger, but I like the GAP knob better. The Badger is a touch too large, IMO.

GAP and Badger respectively:

That Gordo handle is really cool I like the shell case put in it

Anyone ever use the lathe jig sold by pt&g? I was thinking about ordering one. I'm not much of a machinist but have access to the equipment and a willing teacher, so I might as well try and learn something. It doesn't say its specific to a rifle type, does anyone have info on that?

I've been trying to get Gordo to make me one. My understanding is he doesn't do many and has been personally busy lately. I would love to have a certain one he makes. Gordo if you see this, I would still love to have one of your knobs; particularly the one we discussed.
