Rifle Scopes Backordered Barrett rings - know anything?

I ordered some Barrett 15/40 minutes of angle 30mm adjustable rings for a 50 cal last month. I couldn't find anybody with stock, so I went ahead and backordered them. When I called the online retailer to see if they had any updates on the delivery, all I got was a snicker and told that they haven't seen anything from Barrett in 3 months.

Anybody know the scoop on their rings or have any contacts that might have inventory?

Good luck... try a google search, you might find something. I was lucky enough to find a guy here on the hide that was selling a set. occasionally they pop up in the classifieds. It seems like barrett only produces so many a year and when they're gone, thats it till the next production run.

Yes, but I got a rather generic response that didn't give me any real insight other than their demand exceeds their production and there are long lead times.
