Re: Carolina Sniper Golf 17 Mar 2012.

Can anyone else smell that through the screen like I can?

That looks great!

Re: Carolina Sniper Golf 17 Mar 2012.

How's things looking down there for Saturday? Anyone in your Crew old enough to have "Weather Aches" in their bones and joints?

We're getting hammered up here on the mountain.

Re: Carolina Sniper Golf 17 Mar 2012.

Gill, one slot open if you want it.

Hammr, things are looking ok here. No rain yet. It's suppose to rain some tomorrow then be partly cloudy Saturday with isolated showers.

Everything is set up. Food is on it's way down tomorrow and will be cooked and ready for Saturday. Shot a few of the stages and if I can hit the targets with my 16" 308 everyone should be in fine shape

If anyone has something come up: email, call, or pm me. I'll be checking up until match start time.

Re: Carolina Sniper Golf 17 Mar 2012.

Guy had something to come up. But I will be there Saturday morning.

Re: Carolina Sniper Golf 17 Mar 2012.

I shot the CoF this afternoon, I think this gonna be a really good one.

Re: Carolina Sniper Golf 17 Mar 2012.

honestly we have no idea. We think we've got things setup to flow really smoothly, but we're shooting more stages with more shooters than ever before so it's hard to say for sure. We think we'll be done mid-afternoon, current plan is for BBQ @ 5:00.

We've put a lot of thought and work into not getting bogged down.

Re: Carolina Sniper Golf 17 Mar 2012.

I'm really happy with how things went today guys; a great group of shooters and sportsmen. We ran 35 shooters through 14 stages faster and smoother than I ever could have hoped and there is no doubt that the quality of the competitors was a huge factor in that. Thanks for making putting on a match so much fun for all of us, it's really nice to be looking forward to the next match at the end of the day. We've got a ton of pictures to go through and results to post, hopefully we'll get a bunch of them up sometime tomorrow.

Now it's time for me to go and digest the 3-4 lbs of Boston Butt I managed to pack away while you vultures were circling the prize table.

Re: Carolina Sniper Golf 17 Mar 2012.

Great shoot today! Stages were really well thought out and extremely beneficial to the learning curve of precision shooting.

I placed 12th out of 35 and hope to see a top 10 finish next time

Thanks to Kyle and Wind Dummies for putting on a great match!

Re: Carolina Sniper Golf 17 Mar 2012.

Thanks, great match! We'll definitely be coming back, good CoF and great food! I like the atmosphere at this match.

Re: Carolina Sniper Golf 17 Mar 2012.

Great match today! I attempted some shots today that I have never practiced before and so I learned a ton today.

Logistics were solid, food was great, prize table was generous, competitors were a great group, and the course kicked my ass. I'll be back when y'all have the next one.

Re: Carolina Sniper Golf 17 Mar 2012.

Is the sponsor list on the first post up to date?

Re: Carolina Sniper Golf 17 Mar 2012.

To second what everyone else has said about this match. It was a great match with some challenging stages both physically and mentally. The lessons learned for me were well worth the fee and drive. I especially enjoyed the, shall we say, nonstandard shooting positions.

Kyle and the gang know how to set up a great match and the barbecue was outstanding! Thanks to them and the sponsors. Hope to see pics soon.

Re: Carolina Sniper Golf 17 Mar 2012.

This was my first match and it was AWESOME! Great bunch of guys, very good and fun COF's. My buddy that turned me on to this match was the winner. Haven't seen the scores yet so I dont know where I finished, but that really doesnt matter, I had so much fun. I am one tired and sore 51 year old fat guy after some of the very challenging COF's. Many thanks and praise for the Team Wind Dummies guys for a great time. The BBQ was TASTY!!!!!!

Pics are up on facebook. I'll post some of my favorites here later in the day, right now I have to go make pancakes and eggs before my kids start chewing on each other.

Kyle and I can't say enough how glad we are you guys enjoyed it. We try to put together a match the we'd enjoy shooting and it's good to know it came through in what was delivered. There's nothing I hate more than wasting someone's Saturday.

Kyle has the final scores, whenever he rolls out of bed and finishes up out at the range this morning I'm sure he'll post them for those that are curious.

Re: Carolina Sniper Golf 17 Mar 2012.

Great Shoot! Great Food! Great buch of people to be around. Thank you for putting on a fantastic match.
With matches like this, Woody's and Pasquantank, NC has got to be the premier place to be.

Question: Where is that equation for sight adjustment for sideway shots. When I enter it into my phone app and then turn the phone sideways I get an Error message.

Re: Carolina Sniper Golf 17 Mar 2012.

It is killing me missing these last 2 matches!!!! Hopefully the next one will not be when I have a CCW class to teach but gotta pay for the shop. Whats worse I will be driving that way tomorrow for the pesky day job
.

Thanks to Kyle and team for bringing us another top quality event to the area.

Hope to see you all at Woodys next month.

Re: Carolina Sniper Golf 17 Mar 2012.

You guys run a helluva good match. I hate I missed it. Keep up the good work!

Re: Carolina Sniper Golf 17 Mar 2012.

I would like to thank everyone who had a hand in making this match happen, including the sponsors.

It was a Fun match. Different from all others I have shot but in a refreshing way. Great staff, great shooters and great food. I had an absolute blast.

I managed to come out with the low winning score and received a cool trophy.

Truly a fun match that you can easily see has good thought and work behind it.

Thank you and I look forward to coming up again sometime!

Re: Carolina Sniper Golf 17 Mar 2012.

KNIGHT, you sir, are a great shooter! I shot beside you on the last string, I had the shorty Surgeon.

I had a question for ya, with the TUBB contour you run how heavy is your gun and what lenght barrel? I thought it might be a 26".

I hope I can shoot better next time, I can't beleive I let Fastex500 beat me, just kidding dave. I definately learned to think outside the box as far as shooting posistions. I'll be practiced up for next go around

Thank you for the compliment sir. It was a pleasure meeting you and shooting with you.

Im a huge fan of that Tubb contour, and yes the barrel is 26" and then the SF brake.

The weight to me is almost perfect. Its definitely not super light but its not heavy either. I have yet to weigh it and I need to. I will try and get that done soon and post back here. Keep in mind Im running a T4A with mini chassis and a USO 3.2x17x44mm.

Re: Carolina Sniper Golf 17 Mar 2012.

First, I want to say thanks to the great help I had putting this match on. If it was not for them the match could not have happened, period.

Chris and Justin provided some of the best BBQ I have ever tasted. We had pulled pork, 2 different styles, potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, chicken breasts, beer can chickens, fresh homemade sausages (hot and italian), and we served hot dogs to everyone at lunch on top of that.

Wyatt and Davis donated their time to come down and forgo shooting the match and instead give a helping hand. It ended up being a hot hot hot day and these guys worked the butts off. They did a great job.

Of course the other half of the Wind Dummies was there as the co-host. Shawn and I have more in the works already for next time, so be prepared.... don't get lax, we are coming up with new stages.

The winner was Ryan Castle, of Team Honey Badger. He shot well all day and ended up with a score of 7. Pretty good since we changed our scoring up a bit since last match.

I want to thank all the sponsors, shooters, and people who came out and helped make this a huge success. I feel we really set the bar with this match and we will continue to do so in future matches. Our shooters were first class, the help was first class, the food was first class, and our sponsors were first class.

Our sponsors really stepped up to the plate this time. We had Badger Ordnance goodies, Upstate Armory Paint Jobs, Tarheel Targets, BHE AR15 Bolts, Tactical Suppressed Weapons gift certificates, Southern Thunder, Euro Optic's gift certificates, American Precision Arms goodies, Slide Fire Solutions goodies, Precision Rifle Solutions coupons, Impact Data Books, and more.

Re: Carolina Sniper Golf 17 Mar 2012.

Whoa, how did I miss this post? I live two hours away and spent this weekend cleaning up the yard and prepping brass.

Is there going to be another one of these matches?

Re: Carolina Sniper Golf 17 Mar 2012.

Absolutely be another match, we're hoping to do 3-4 a year. Current plan is for some sort of a team match next time but we're not entirely sure what that will look like yet. If anyone has any ideas/suggestions/requests for stages or format please send me a PM. I can't say we'll do everything but I can gaurentee that every suggestion will be carefully considered to see what can be learned from it.

Funny, that's exactly the thought that ran through my head; and I didn't even post an official score.

Re: Carolina Sniper Golf 17 Mar 2012.

This is just a small sampling of the day. There are a bunch more pics on the facebook page. A big thanks to our photographer, Amanda for putting together one of the best photo spread's I've seen for a match. She did all of this out of the goodness of her heart, so if we manage to draw her back for a future match please let her know if you appreciate it.

Re: Carolina Sniper Golf 17 Mar 2012.

Thanks everyone who had a hand in making this match happen, including the sponsors. This was my first match like this. Really liked shooting in different positions as well as the kinda weird off set ranges the targets we at. Had a lot of fun and learned two things that day. Canted scopes suck and shooting at different positions really is harder than I thought. The whole 90 degree cant firing position is still in my mind but I think I got it figured out. Hope you all have another one so I can redeem myself.

Re: Carolina Sniper Golf 17 Mar 2012.

This match was a blast! More fun than any other shooting event last year. You have set the bar very high for Sniper Golf 3, and you can be sure I'll be there. THANKS!

Re: Carolina Sniper Golf 17 Mar 2012.

Good news, I'll be watching for the next one. It looks like you guys had a good time (food looked good too!).

Great match, well worth the drive from North GA. I'll be on the lookout for the next match and will make plans to attend.

Thanks for the fun time.
