Having a 308 built and was hoping to get some input from you'll about the AX.. I have shot the 2.0 but was wondering how people were liking the new AX.. I most likely wont have the need for the rail system, but wasn't sure if the over all feel was better/more comfortable? (i know that's subjective, however im just trying to get a general consensus.) thanks

if the folder is still 1300 or so I would do it. AI makes great gear. Even if you didn't like it the AI gear holds its value...

The AX chassis is sharp as a tack. I've shot several rifles built in them. Most of what I've handled were fairly heavy rifles and the AX does a great job of making them easy to manage. I think the tube will have an edge over the 1.5 & 2.0 in the LE community, providing a prop to shoot from barricades w/o putting pressure on the barrel. I'm not going to drop my 2.0 for one though. For now I'm going wait for AI to get the new AICS skins to market that will give me the AX grip and stock profile. Next personal build will definitely be in an AX.

I have shot several rifles in the AX stock & was quite pleased. Very easy to get comfortable behind. I was happy with the perceived recoil of the 338 LM. I thought it was an excellent package.

I got the AX a couple of months ago and dropped my 260 in it and couldn't be happier. I just couldn't get used to the AICS thumbhole, but really like the AX stock. It's comfortable, the pistol grip fits me perfect and I really like that I can put the sling any where I want to in about 30 seconds (on the front anyways).
Be prepared to get new high rings. The bell of my 50mm scope hit the shroud around the barrel. I ended up getting a zero MOA base and high rings. I still can't get the Butler Creek's around the bell, but I tend to break those every time I go out anyways. So it's probably saving me money on those cheap ass things anyways.
Go for it. You won't be sorry.
