Hi Guys,
I just purchased a brand new SR25EMC, with MK11 stamped on it. Was shooting it today for the first time and first 25 rounds or so were flawless. After that I had several failure to feeds and one failure to eject. I was using GA arms 168 gr ammo. I assumed the 25 would eat most ammo, but perhaps this is an ammo problem? Should I use only match ammo? My SCAR will take almost any kind of ammo.
Thanks!

I don't own an SR25 but I agree that for the price you paid for that rifle, it had better eat any f*ckin thing you feed it and ask for seconds. Try running some NATO 147 or 150 though it to see how it does and if it still gives you problems, give KAC a call and they will make it right.

Re: New SR25EMC

It has been an issue with the Nights not liking certain ammo.... You should be fine with M80 ball or equivalent.

Re: New SR25EMC

I would agree it should run full power NATO or 308, If it is properly lubed. I dont know what Georgia Arms ammo spec is but it is popular to run in service rifle matches which are usually loaded to lower pressures for the M1A.

To expect it to run perfect on any ammo is a stretch. I have some low power handloads that dont work well (very soft ejection) in my MWS but shoot great in a bolt. If the OP didn't lube it prior to shooting I would start there first. This has been a problem for a lot of AR users. The fact that it worked well for 25 rounds seems like a lube problem.

Re: New SR25EMC

I think the EMC does not like low power loads. Privi, FGMM, Surplus FN have all worked fine. However some weak San Bernadino from the early 80's would not cycle the rifle.

The problem was lack of lube. If I had read the manual first, instead of rushing to the range I wouldn't have had the problem. After lubrication she fed beautifully and shot everything I put in her. Thanks for the help Re25!

That's correct. My dealer had one and I grabbed it. I shot the heck out of it today and it is very accurate, more so than my SCAR.

After I lubed my SR25 it shot 100 or so rounds of GA arms 168 with no problem. It is good ammo at a good price and I will be buying more.

Re: New SR25EMC

Nice rifle, may I suggest an optic?

SN-4, JNG, and although it is not on the scope in the photos, I think the EREK option is worthwhile on the EMC.
