Hey everyone-

Our new Grippy Cheekrest is now available!

It's a fully overmolded cheekrest designed to replace the standard comb on the AICS, AE or AW. Whether your cheek is wet or dry from sweat or sun, the grippy cheekrest will give you the best cheekweld you can get.

Featured in Lowlight's review (note that one was a prototype and not fully overmolded), we were given high marks for the new innovative design which keeps your cheek on the comb with a maximum level of comfort.

To install you simply unscrew your OEM AICS cheekrest and using the same screws and bracket, replace with the new Grippy Cheekrest. It only takes a few moments to get you the cheekweld you need to make the shot.

I've been asked this a number of times and... I'm not sure. I believe it will but not 100 percent.

If you want to be the first and let me know, I throw in a VICO t-shirt for you. If it doesn't fit then send it back for a full refund and keep the shirt.

Re: The Grippy Cheekrest is here!

Just ordered two..thanks for the heads up that they were available.

Re: The Grippy Cheekrest for AICS is here!

Thanks for all the orders!

One thing to note- if you want it even more grippy than it comes, simply take a little bit of 220 or finer sandpaper and VERY lightly remove the finish. I would not recommend this until you use it for a bit as it will get grippier with use.

Re: The Grippy Cheekrest for AICS is here!

Got mine today. Big difference in feel, definitely worth it to me. Good job Victor Company!

Re: The Grippy Cheekrest for AICS is here!

Just got mine as well. I find it much better than the standard check rest.

Keep up the good work Michael.

Re: The Grippy Cheekrest for AICS is here!

Did I miss the conclusion on fitting this to an AX?

How far apart or the posts, center to center? What's the OAL.
I can see if it is close on my AX.

Re: The Grippy Cheekrest for AICS is here!

I installed mine tonight when I got home from work after finding out my wife hid it lol. Big difference and worth the money, just like the Viper Skins, good quality merchandise, keep up the good work. What do you have up your sleeve next?

EDITED WITH UPDATED INFO!!!

The new info I have is that our Grippy Cheekrest does fit on the AX! It's simply a bit longer but the bolt DOES NOT hit the cheekrest.

Re: The Grippy Cheekrest for AICS is here!

Received two Grippy Cheekrest's on Friday, installed and shot them all weekend. Product looks and functions EXCELLENT, sometimes it's the small things that really make a difference. Great Job on these!

The info I have is that our Grippy Cheekrest does NOT fit on the AX due to the fact our cheekrest is the 'standard' comb length and the AX employs the short 'AIAW338' style comb.

(note our Grippy Cheekrest DOES fit the AX cheekrest bracket but since it's longer than the AX comb, the bolt will hit it)

In this pic, you can see our standard sized Accustack (which is the same size as our Grippy Cheekrest) on the AX comb. The AX comb has the shorter front (see arrow)

Now if you cut the front of our cheekrest off with a bandsaw, you might be in business.

Just to clear (or muddy) things a bit......

I just put mine on my AX Chassis with a short action Rem 700. The bolt DOES NOT hit. Not even close really. Without measuring, I'd say it's close to an inch of clearance. Please do not assume this is true for any other actions!

The grippy cheekrest is longer than the stock spacer that goes between the cheekrest and the stock (not sure what that piece is called, exactly). So it looks a little odd, but it functions just fine.

So now the question is this - which accustack parts can I use on the AX chassis?

Once I mount up my scope I'll know what height I need. (Knee surgery last week is keeping me from going down the steps to the rest of the tools I need for that, at least for a few more days.) If the standard sized matches the grippy cheekrest and won't interfere with anything on the chassis, that's what I'd like to go with just to have things looking clean again.

I haven't been out to shoot mine yet, but just shouldering the gun, it feels so much better. Thanks for the innovative product!

Excellent! Thank you for the report. I'm guessing I misunderstood our other Hide member when (I thought) he said it would hit his bolt.

This is great news for the AX guys. I haven't yet picked up an AX, and I'm not sure whether you can replace with one of our longer 'standard' sized Accustack spacers.. but I'm thinking they would fit fine if you put one of them under your new Grippy Cheekrest.

See the pic for visual reference of the footprint of each comb..

Re: The Grippy Cheekrest for AICS is here!

Mike - it could be that the actual AX rifle that the bolt hits. It's why I specified the R700 short action. But yes, it is good news for us R700 AX chassis owners!

That picture of the spacers side by side helps. I'm pretty sure the AICS spacer will work.

Thanks.

Re: The Grippy Cheekrest for AICS is here!

Oh great it says "backordered" on the website.

Noooooo.

I was comparing my AICS short to my AWSM 338 last night and the cheek rests are different in length. What is the length of the grippy cheekrest?

Re: The Grippy Cheekrest for AICS is here!

To my understanding the grippy cheek rest is the same length as the short action AW/AICS chassis.

The AWSM, AX AICS uses a cheek rest that is SHORTER than the grippy cheek rest.

So the grippy cheek rest would be the same length as your S/A AICS cheek rest.

Re: The Grippy Cheekrest for AICS is here!

Bummer. But thanks for the info. Hopefully the release a shorter version in the future.

Re: The Grippy Cheekrest for AICS is here!

Gonna have to try one of these out.
