can't decide between 1.5 and the 2.0 LA Rem. for a .300 Win. I like the folding aspect of the 2.0 but am leery about the lockup on the hinge assembly. I want as robust a stock as I can get and if it folds even better. I've never seen one in person let alone used one, so before I drop over a grand I need some feedback.

with a long action, without a doubt get the 2.0 if for no other reason than being able to quickly remove your bolt without removing the cheek riser. i also like the 2.0 for ease of cleaning the bore.

the lock up is rock solid so i wouldn't worry about that.

Re: Advice on AICS stock

The folder locks up like a bank vault and lets you insert/remove the bolt and clean the rifle without having to remove the cheekpiece. It also lets you fit the rifle in a much smaller transit case. Below is mine (20" AIAW + SAS TOMB) in a Pelican 1700 (I'm waiting for my tax stamp before cutting the rest of the foam). My only criticism of the folder is that it folds to the opposite side as the bolt, so you can't comfortably sling the rifle over your back with the stock folded.

Re: Advice on AICS stock

As the guys have said before, 2.0 gives you the option to remove the bolt with-out having to lower the check rest, cleaning of the WPN become easier and it does save on space. The lock up is as good as you can get, I have ever heard of anyone having a problem with the lock ups and the lads put the rifles through their paces.
If you can have a play with both the 1.5 and 2.0 and see what is right for YOU. Hope this helps.

Re: Advice on AICS stock

I'm about to buy one too, but in new Jersey, has to be a fixed stock. So I'm stuck with 1.5 lol.

Even on a bolt gun? That so fucking stupid...if so, get the hell out of there - rant off

Re: Advice on AICS stock

well that pretty much seals the deal, and Andreas. that is the exact package I'm looking to have. I'm stoked and looking at the
AAC Mk13 on the end!!!!

Re: Advice on AICS stock

Have both 1.5's and 2.0's in both LA and SA. As others have said the lockup is solid and the hinge makes for easy bolt removal.

Re: Advice on AICS stock

I just made this decision last month. Went with 2.0 and it is rock solid. Glad I listened to everyone and went with it
