HS Precision Question

I have the AAC-SD and got a brand new HS Precision take off for it. Set it up and shot it today and although my groups were much smaller the grip/palm swell is huge for me (I have small hands). It was very awkward for me to shoot and put my finger at an uncomfortable place on the trigger. My question is should I just put up with it and learn to shoot it like it is or look in to trading it for something else? My first choice was a B&C Tactical Medalist with the "hook" but I got a great deal on the HS. How is the B&C grip size in comparison with the HS?

Re: HS Precision Question

Are you kidding? The HS is like holding a baseball for me. The one I got came off a 5R do all 5R's have the wide grips....I couldn't imagine anything bigger than that. How much bigger is it??? If anyone has a B&C could you take a tape measure and actually measure how big around the grip actually is?

Re: HS Precision Question

The B/C I have is slightly larger than the HS with palm swell. I have one HS palm swell grip and one without the palm swell. You may just want to go to one without a swell. If you want a smaller profile you may want to look elsewhere,, Manners, McMillan...perhaps a thumbhole profile...

Re: HS Precision Question

Wow, ok thanks for the info. I have a B&C I'm going to look at and decide which one I like better. If they are the same I don't know what I will do. Not sure which is a better stock. Which one do you like better? I'm sure I can get used to either one I'm a fast learner.

Re: HS Precision Question

Get the B&C M40 stock.
It does not have the palm swell.

I have a couple of HS stocks, they are good stocks. I also have a B&C varmint/tactical.

One advantage of the B&C is the bedding block is a full length affair and the fore end sling swivels are threaded into this aluminum skeleton.

The HS Precision block does not extend as far, the sling swivels are threaded into the fiberglass. They have been known to pull out.
