Re: Whats in your range bag?
I keep 2 bags. 1 has the essentials I need for shooting practice, match, etc. The other has targets, tools, etc - things that are range need only.
essentials-
eyes, ears, sunscreen, kestrel, databook (includes drop charts), ammo, mags, rear bag, batteries, laser range finder. Optional based on task of the day - water, snacks, lunch, rain gear.
range only-
targets, stapler, tape, tools, torque wrench.
When I'm at the range, the range only bag comes out of the truck only to go down range and setup targets, then goes back in the truck. This way I can keep separate what basics I need for shooting from the "extras" I use at the range. My goal is to keep the essentials bag as light as possible. If I go to a match, that is the bag I carry. If I go hunting, that is the bag I carry. If I'm carrying it more than from the truck to the firing line, I want to be sure that it has a purpose.
