I would like to build a 16” 300-blackout upper for my AR.

I would love for members who are using the platform suggest a list of reliable parts for the build!

The best receiver, barrel (I think Noveske), gas tube length, gas block, handguard (I think I like the KAC URX 3), and any other information that I am missing.

Thanks in advance for your input; it is greatly appreciated!!!

Anyways, you can order one from them and be done with it, but all the parts you listed are fine. I'm new to the upper as in just shot it yesterday. Loki has made a fine product. They also had an Loki upper in 264lbc there as well and it was very nice.

Re: Help with 300 Blackout part

We have been using the Seekins IRMT for the past couple of months with great luck. We like it them so much, pretty much all of our guns lately have been with Seekins uppers and rail systems. Also coming soon, is a complete 300BLK Seekins rifle and we are also building our integrally suppressed upper with Glens rail system!

Re: Help with 300 Blackout part

Welcome to some fun shooting. Most 16" blackout barrels are carbine length gas tubes, I think there is at least one that uses pistol length so look before you order. As far as parts look for parts that fit how you want to use it.I went as cheap and light as possible and it shoots 110gr. hp supers and 210 gr. sub really great.

Re: Help with 300 Blackout part

I see pictures (showing barrel and gas tube installed) and it looks like it is only half way down the barrel. should it not be at the end of the barrel for normal carbine AR barrels?

Re: Help with 300 Blackout part

I seem that it would be easier to purchase a complete upper!

AAC is hard to find, in stock, but the Noveske is no where to be found. Which one is better?

Re: Help with 300 Blackout part

Noveske is a great barrel! I just got one on here made by saturn from houston armory. But, its up to you if you want to wait.

Re: Help with 300 Blackout part

Noveske is worth waiting for. The price is up there but i am saving up for something i want, not something i can settle for. If you go the Noveske route, you will not be disappointed.

Basically, you are taking the rail mounting point and building it into the upper making for a much more rigid setup, which should in theory give you better accuracy. But you have to run a Seekins rail system. Not a bad thing since most of our builds have the suppressor sitting inside the rail. And Glens rails are LIGHT!

Most 16" barrels run a carbine gas system. I haven't seen anyone run a mid or rifle lenght in a 300BLK yet. I personally don't see the need to. Or even a piston setup for that matter.

Noveske makes great barrels. We have used them on a couple of our personal builds at the shop and the Rouge Hunter line of rifles are really popular with our hog control customers. We also had great luck with AAC, Satern and Seekins barrels. All have produced sub MOA groups with good ammo.

Re: Help with 300 Blackout part

I just started researching this. Sounds like. Great replacement for 5.56 for close distance. The subsonics are whisper quiet too.

I also love that you can use regular 5.56 mags with same capacity.

I might get an upper to test out and if I like it, buy a dedicated lower for it. Most likely with a RDS for 200 and in

Re: Help with 300 Blackout part

Then the AAC upper should be a GREAT choice; one would think!

Re: Help with 300 Blackout part

I just got a upper from loki with a saturn barrel. Only have a few rounds down the pipe but so far this combo has exceeded my expectations. I would think acc and noveske would be great as well. My choice was who could get one to me first.

Re: Help with 300 Blackout part

There are a few AACs out there, however, Noveske is not to be found. I guess they are in high Demand!

Indeed

Re: Help with 300 Blackout part

Do have the Noveske 16" barrel to be fitted on the SP IRMT BILLET UPPERS w/SP 3 GN RAIL [SP^3R]
