The 26th is a Monday, is that the correct date for the match?

Re: 1 Day Fun Match March 26, Saxton, Pa.

Are looking to sponsor any travelling shooters to come shoot?
If you have not been to one of Sean's classes or a shoot with him you need to go it is always an adventure, in a good way.

Damn sure wish we lived closer. Sounds like a good time. Take pictures and let me know how it turns out. Talk to you later.

Re: 1 Day Fun Match March 26, Saxton, Pa.

If you're tempting people to come in from NC, I may have to give this a shot for sheer proximity's sake.

Re: 1 Day Fun Match March 26, Saxton, Pa.

Dad and I will be there.

Re: 1 Day Fun Match March 26, Saxton, Pa.

Just for clarification, nothing above a 300 Win Mag allowed on the range. So, NO 338s or 50s, if you are unsure please email or PM me.

Looking forward to this since I have been trying to do this for some time.

Re: 1 Day Fun Match March 26, Saxton, Pa.

We'll leave the 300's home and save you steel. Probably bring the gas guns.

Re: 1 Day Fun Match March 24, Saxton, Pa.

Question-

for the tripod supported stage, do we need to provide our own tripod? I have one, and I can use it sitting and kneeling, but it doesn't go up high enough for me to use it standing.

thanks Sean, looking forward to this one a lot! Saxton venue looks great.

Re: 1 Day Fun Match March 24, Saxton, Pa.

You can use your own tripod but it will need to go to the standing. I will have several tripods on Hand for shooters to use.

So far there are about 2 dozen people signed up so it will be a good turn out, plan on having registration to assign shooter numbers we will shoot about 5 or 6 stages, then eat some pork chop sandwiches and have some social and rec fire time.

Easy day!! Looking forward to it!!

Re: 1 Day Fun Match March 24, Saxton, Pa.

I can bring my own tripod but do I have to bring my own BBQ sauce for the pork chops? I like to get all the important details, and be prepared.

Re: 1 Day Fun Match March 24, Saxton, Pa.

What?

Sorry just waking up so I was finding it a little hard to believe considering that I didn't think I did all that well lol.

Even with all the rain I had a great time and really enjoyed shooting with all the guys there, recent acquaintances and old friends alike. There were some really good stages that kicked my ass and showed that I need to work on some things. Some of the 100 yard drills showed just how fat and out of shape I've gotten lol. Oh and a big thanks to Dave Shoemaker for awesome hospitality, everyone was treated like family. Well back to Daddy duty but I look forward to shooting there again in the future.

Re: 1 Day Fun Match March 24, Saxton, Pa.

Huge thanks to Sean and David, I know all the guys we can up with had a great time despite the rain. And yes the heart breaker kicked my fat ass to Ian. Great to shoot with you all again and hope to come back soon. Third really? It must have been the pork chops.

Re: 1 Day Fun Match March 24, Saxton, Pa.

Great time even in the rain. Now just to teach Sean his numbers and keep him from getting other relays to shoot the right target.

Thanks to Dave for the use of his place and the great grub.

Re: 1 Day Fun Match March 24, Saxton, Pa.

Kennedy-
Great shooting! Nice to put a face to the "Trigger Monkey" name and the "Shooting Voodoo" website guy. I saw you hammer the TD stage and you clearly have skills.

Sean-
Outstanding work!

I loved the paper stages - all those drills were great (especially liked the Hostage Stress drill where a fast runner like myself has some advantage). Make the memory drill harder next time, maybe add some math to it as well (LOL).

UKD and TD were super well-thought out as well. On the UKD, we hammered the ranges; we were within 15 yds of all the targets, but that wind kicked my ass. I was doped for 2mph on that and my bullet was off right on every shot.

TD was great. Camo was well done. Going first, I had the true feeling of "there are hidden guys out there", which was a lot of fun. Again, wind kicked my ass - I was doped for 4mph and was again off right edge consistently.

One thing I would recommend is leverage the assets you have and get more spotters/scorers. Run the first group and have those guys spot and score. This way, you speed it up and take a bit of pressure off yourself (that was a ton of eye ball work for you!). You can always count on me to help you, bro!

Overall, awesome show. This was truly an event that you would expect from a Scout Sniper - rain, running, marching, more rain, more marching, lots of wind, small targets, camo'ed targets, but also lots of fun and great folks.

I personally learned a ton and look forward to seeing you and Dave in a couple of weeks!

P.S. Very nice to meet all the Jersey guys. Woodbridge is safe with these guys on the beat - they are damn good shooters!

Re: 1 Day Fun Match March 24, Saxton, Pa.

Thanks will definately make some changes to how I run it, plus will try to split UKD targets into two groups with two score keepers.

Anyone got any pics to post?

Re: 1 Day Fun Match March 24, Saxton, Pa.

Thanks for the kind words James. This was Woodbridges first competative precision event but it will definately not be our last. Great group of guys and getting together with Sean is always a blast.
