I was just lookin thru my sierra load book and seen they got loads listed for; imr 4350 ,h4350 , imr4831 ,h4831 . from 150-200grn.have any you ever tried these powders? what were the results, good or bad . are they for realy looonng barrels? just currius would like to hear from ya ll. thankyou in advance.

I prefer Varget, great velocity and consistent at various temperatures. Only thing is Varget can be a pain to meter.
I have also used Tac, and IMR4895 with success.
For reduced loads (plinkers) I use H4895
I only use H4350 in long action cartridges, -06, 7x57, and 8x57

+1 with the folks using Reloading 15. Very accurate at 1-600yds for me with SMK 155 (2155) and 168 bullets. Some say it's dirty and has temperature fluctuation issues but I haven't been negatively impacted.

I use varget a lot but have been playing the the MR2000 recently and been very impressed. Higher velocities with no increased signs of pressure. Meters well too.

I use 4064 and Varget..shoots very similar in bolt guns..4064 seems to be better out of gas guns though.

Reloader 15 gave me more velocity, more consistency and less pressure than H4895 pushing a 178 AMax. Currently I am getting 2660fps out of a 24" 1-10 factory Savage with 44.2 of RE15 at 2.835". H4895 is a good option for heavy bullets, 4064 for lighter bullets, and Varget seems to be the favorite... I just haven't tried the KoolAid yet.
Always remember, results vary. Make sure to work up and don't blow yourself or your neighbor at the range up.

i use IMR4895, i generally shoot anything from 168 gr to 178gr and i get good accuracy and velocity.
The other week i was feeling frisky and had some 225gr match BTHP's laying around that i bought for my 300rum and wanted to try them in a .308, only problem was i only had the IMR4895 laying around. searched and searched with no luck for any load data with that powder on a bullet that heavy...not really surprising.
but i still wanted to do it. so found some data for 215gr bullets, crunched some numbers to figure out a charge and loaded up some.
Shot them out of my buddies 20" barrel rifle, the loads were perfectly safe, no pressure signs velocity was in expected range 2200fps (to be safe, again i was flying in the dark here)
but his twist rate would not stabilize the big 225 grers...plus short barrel and low velocity did not help situation. But they were still fun to shoot. recoil was noticeably more over the normal 168's we shoot out of his gun.
I could have loaded them a little hotter and pushed them a little faster to try and help with stability but it would just be a waste when there are obviously better powders out there for the bigger bullets, it was just something i did for shits and giggles

RL15 + Federal 210 + 168 / 175 SMK = Accurate Load
as a bonus,

I use 2000MR and RE15 as well. My varget experience has been similar to JGorski. I couldn't get it to shoot at all testing different load combinations. Kept my last varget loads to warm the barrel for a different session and they all grouped in under .3 MOA. Not sure why but, they worked the second time. Since I ran out of this powder, I continued with the other 2 choices. Groups with RE15 are outstanding. The 2000MR has been great as well with a larger node.

gosu, I have yet to verify this but read the 178A max like 0.005-0.010" off the lands. For me this means 2.960 OAL in my 5R Remington.

Thank you, I will look into it. Another reason I picked TAC because it work for both 223 and 308. I see 2000MR is also listed for 223 but the load data they have only for heavy 223.
