OK i have access to the equipment which is awsome because i figured id be buying ammo until i invested in the gear. So any recommendations of loads to begin with for the the A-MAX in 52 and 75 grain? I picked up a hundred of each to play with i read a post that recommed a grain under with the 5R any other suggestions would be great.

You may have better luck by posting in the reloading forum. Funny you should ask though about these two. They are the exact bullets I used to shoot in my old Ar, great bullets, but dont recall any load data, sorry.

I have a rem 700 with a 1-12 tw, It loves the 52gn over 25.5gn varget or 24.5gn 3031. I have had better luck with the varget with the hornady bullets and the 3031 with the Sierra MKs. I seat them to .010" off the land. I hope this helps a bit.

I just posted my first run of load data for 75 Hornady BTHP here:

I've loaded the 30cal 178 AMax and BTHP and the load weights/performance are almost the same between the two, COAL is a little different. So I'm assuming 75gr BTHP loads would work for 75 AMax in a bolt gun since COAL isn't as big an issue.

Try Benchmark with the 52 and IMR 4064 or RE15 with the 75.
Benchmark shoots itty bitty groups in my 223 AI with fireforming loads.
RE15 shoots 75's great in my AR and 4064 hammers in my 223 AI with AMAXs.

Thanx guys, after i posted i realized it would be better suited in the reloading section.
I have the 52, 75 A Max along with 69 SMKs on the way the heavier will be preferred i'm sure but figured id play with the lighter 52s and cover the extremes of the 1:9 twist. Had intended using Varget as its at my disposal, guess its time to play.
To think a month ago i had no intention of reloading this site really is a wealth of information.
