Re: SWFA-SS Reticle Shot

How do you like SS5-20x50 over all? And the reticle? I'm thinking about buying one.

Re: SWFA-SS Reticle Shot

This is an FFP, and I believe it was set at 20x for the photo.

My initial impressions are good. The glass is clear and while I have not completed the tracking drill yet, I had no problem dialing dope on my known load at the match this weekend. The turrets feel nice, although on 10mRad per rev turrets the clicks are a little closer than I would like. The parallax is very stiff. This wouldn't be a problem if the illumination controls weren't in the way. The magnification ring is also very stiff. I don't know how much it would loosen up over time, but if you do a lot of switching power on the clock, a cattail might be a worthwhile addition.

I have mixed feelings about the reticle. I do not like the fact that the diamonds are a different length and width. I feel they need to subtend the same either way. I do like that they are hollow. I like the .5 mil hashes and the 5 mil mark. I wish they were numbered and had wind hold dots like the EBR-2.

That is about it off the cuff. I am looking to do some more work with it before I finish out the review.

thanks for the feedback.. if you have handled the ffp pst 6-24, overall which would you choose between the 2? strictly target shooting out to 1000..
