mounted this scope on my 110 FCP-HS 338 Lapua,,it is FFP with a variant of a mil-dot reticle that has mil dots and half Mil hash dots,,it is also 1/10th Mil Adjustments,,

the rifle has a 20 MOA base and with a 250 yard zero,I have 19 Mils elevation adjustmets left,,about 2 mils short of a mile,,I would like enough to adjust to 2,000,,

I have looked at 40 MOA bases but I am not sure I need all that,,

I think what I need to do is get the Burris rings with the offset inserts, and switch them up until I can get the elevation knob to have less than 5 Mils down adjustments with a 250 zero,,

has anybody had any luck with this scope holding up under 338 muzzle blast, and running the knobs up and down 8-10 mils just about every range trip and maxed out every now and then,,

I really like all the features of the scope,,but for a 675 $$ scope I just dont know how long it will last under heavy usage..

I would Love somebody to tell me the scope is as good at tracking as a Leupold and that the Burris Rings are tougher than they look,

thanx Eric

Re: Weaver 3-15 Tactical

the circles are mildots, but theyre hollow so you can see through to a possibly small target.

To the OP, the scope is incredibly durable, I have it on my 300 WSM lightweight (its stock, I'm adding a few parts to make it heavier and soak up recoil), this is one of the hardest recoiling rifles I've shot (I've shot 338 Lapua rifles before) and the scope is just fine, I've had absolutely no tracking issues, many people say that Weaver made a mistake pricing it so low, that its easily a $1200 dollar scope priced at $700, and I completely agree with them.

Also, this thing has 100 MOA of travel, a 40 MOA base won't have any negative affects on the scope, you'll still most likely be able to zero the scope at 100 yards and you'll have about 90 MOA of elevation which should put you way beyond 1 mile. My 25 MOA base has just enough elevation for my 300 WSM, with a 208 AMAX, to reach a mile.
